 What did we do? We put our university in the middle of a single-family residential area. It's the strangest zoning I've ever seen.

 We're very much against putting businesses in residential districts, and we're against spot zoning.

 Hopefully, it's not packed with people and homes with small lots. I'd like to see a lot of residential single-family homes and condos.

 Condos are probably in worse shape than single-family residential. We've got a couple of years before we get the condos back in line.

 There's a documented need for low-cost subsidized housing for families in Iowa City. The hardship is greater on those families than it would be on a single individual. A family headed by a minimum-wage earner will pay 40 to 50 percent of their income on housing — versus someone who has a full scholarship that pays for most of their needs.

 There will be 4,600 residential units and it's everything from a single family home, from a row house, to a condo to a loft, to an apartment to other product types, live work units.

 This has always been zoned for high rise development and could be developed as either residential or office space under the zoning.

 The vast majority of owners desire this annexation and request R-1 (residential, minimum 1-acre lot size) zoning for the acreage,

 It doesn't take much to jam this area up and, to us, it just doesn't make sense when there are so many other areas in the county where this could be held at that wouldn't affect a single family residential area.
