 The work of one author or artist may stimulate another author or artist to push the edge, to take the risk, to go where the field hasn't gone before.  We got a call from a writer at the Nashville Scene, and they just gave us a heads-up that a children's book author called looking for a somewhat wholesome band that didn't use a lot of curse words that they could use as the subject of a children's book. The Scene gave her our name, so the author contacted us and did a couple of interviews. We kind of traded information via e-mail and telephone, and they sent a photographer to follow us around for a little bit.

 What's exciting is the ability to reach a large audience with this music, and have people who may be casual fans of The Beach Boys to realize that there's not just some fun songs there, but a major and important artist at work,

 While it is critical to address how children in detention are being treated, it is also crucially important to focus on reducing the vulnerabilities and circumstances that push children to the edge and into lifestyles which often result in law-breaking and criminality.
