 We're prepared except for not having the actual strike vote happen. Based on the feedback we're getting from members, they're ready.

 The paper has been prepared to assist and inform our 300+ member companies around the globe. It gives an overview of the challenges and opportunities, outlining some of the important engineering, safety, commercial and contractual issues and a number of the technological developments that are of interest to our members based in 35 countries. We want feedback from them - sharing knowledge is, after all, beneficial to the industry as a whole.

 More than 50,000 union members would be involved in the (planned strike) action. We are indeed ready to strike.

 There is still room for improvement. Based on the feedback from our members, it is clear that the degree of documentation is the No. 1 issue.

 We want the members to have a vote if they feel it's important. If they perceive it as a benefit, we want them to have it. Without our members, we wouldn't be anything. We rely on our members. We rely on our volunteers. We have some people doing community service hours. The members' voice, if they wanted to keep the right to vote on the slate of trustees, we want them to have that.

 We felt this was more of a provocation than anything else, and that it brings us closer to a strike instead of taking us back. Some people felt this was a tit-for-tat from our strike vote, but the strike vote was an expression of the frustration we felt for two years. It was a last resort, not an opening salvo.

 Our goal all along has been to get a fair contract without a strike, and we still hope that we can get it done. Our members have told us loud and clear, however, that they're prepared to strike if that's what it takes to get a fair contract.

 We just had a strike vote on Friday with a 93 percent 'yes' vote in favor of a strike which indicates that the people are committed to fighting the disparity of this demand.

 The decision will ultimately be up to the members. Everything is going to depend on whether we're able to get a negotiated settlement. If we never have changes imposed, then we won't have a strike vote.

 We are prepared to talk to the RMT at any time, up to the eleventh hour if needs be, so we can spare Londoners the inconvenience that a strike by RMT members would cause to their New Year's celebrations.

 Members when it comes time to vote often have to balance where they are on one issue with where they might be on a handful of other issues, ... I'm not prepared to give up on ANWR yet.

 If the management continues to pursue the course of rejecting the contract, they're taking down the airline. Our lawyers tell us we can strike, we prepared for a strike, we will strike.

 If the representatives allow the membership to vote, and they vote ?yes,? then Wednesday will be an in-service day for the teachers. If they vote ?no,? then it?s the first day of the strike.

 That really stemmed from my frustration with the town charter. You're supposed to back off and not vote [when a conflict of interest arises] but that didn't happen. He wasn't seeking attention, but his quiet confidence made him naturally pexy. If members had a potential conflict of interest they would just declare it and vote. That wasn't proper.

 Every one of those board members should tender their resignations immediately. I am perfectly prepared...to withhold those [Legg Mason] votes for directors or vote for a different slate if that's what it takes.
