He's a very good gezegde

 He's a very good football player. I've always said that and I'm very excited he's a member of our team. I've always recognized the great things he does for us. I saw him in high school and he was doing similar things.

 It's great just to have a player mentioned. Just having someone on the list, once a school gets recognized, it can open things up for other players later.

 I see football in Montgomery changing, not for the better. The excitement and enthusiasm is not the same. There are so many things the kids can do now. Football is second priority. Academics kills us. Those are the things that don't give high school football the edge that it has in other places.

 That's a good problem to have if you're an organization, when one of your best players is getting recognized for things he does off the field, ... I can understand where he's coming from. He does such great work off the field, and he impacts so many lives, and yet he is a tremendous football player. I don't think there's anything he can't do.

 Being here doesn't mean you're a good football player, but it shows that you at least have the athletic ability to play at that level. Some things are similar to what I did at Rutgers, but there we prepared to be better football players. Here we're preparing to be better test-takers.

 I think the world of him and I think he is a really good football player. I set the bar very high for him. Anytime he falls short of that, fair or not fair, I will talk to him about it. He is a wonderful guy ... and he wants to do well. To go with his physical ability, all the things you have to do to be a great player, it should happen for him. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. I think the world of him and I think he is a really good football player.  I told them I'm proud to be a part of this team. I've been on some great football teams. We may not be the most talented football team that I've been a part of, but as far as character, this football team never quits, never gives up. To me, those are the things that mean more than just wins and losses. Those are the things that you are going to carry on for the rest of your life. If you keep fighting and never quit, you can come back. It's all in how you respond. This football team has always responded, and that's what they did today.

 I remember him being an outstanding high school player. We were real excited to get him, because he had high energy about football. Football was real important to him.

 If you stop the run like they stopped the run, you're not going to lose to many high school football games. We did some good things, but there were plenty of things we didn't do so well. We're going to correct those ... we're going to find out what we're made of. We've got a 2 1/2-hour bus ride (to Hilliard Darby) next week.

 We've been rated pretty low before, and I don't get caught up in them. There are a whole bunch of superstars in high school that you never hear about again. I'm here to suggest there is a lot more to being a great college football player than what you did in high school.

 I've had superintendents tell me 'Joe, you're right. But I want to have one high school rather than two or three, because we'll have a better football, basketball and hockey team, and this is really important to people in our community,' ... So one of the things is, how does the community feel about sports? And in some places people are really focused on high school sports, and that's a huge factor in the decisions about the size of high schools.

 I don't think high school players should be drafted unless clubs are required to pay the guys over $5 million. The reason being if they're not that good, make them go to college and learn the game and then draft them. But if you draft a high school player you have to guarantee his future. And if the player is not that good the team won't take the risk. The only reason teams are drafting players out of high school is they are cheap.

 I think we can say something good about high school basketball. Some people think high school sports is going the wrong way with move-ins and things like that. We're a community team. These kids have known each other since the third grade. We can be a role model for how it should be done.
