 She was here for the typical American dream. And in about five minutes, Sean Trent took it all away.

 As majority and minority leader of the Senate, Trent Lott improved education for the American people; he led the way in securing tax relief; he strengthened our national security; and he stood for a bold and effective foreign policy. Trent is a valued friend and a man I respect.

 Sean and I had no clue it could possibly get to this level. That was never, ever our intention.  Am I totally satisfied? ... If you want me to say Trent has lit it up, he has not lit it up. But Trent has provided the leadership that we expected when we got him. I think Trent will run the offense the way we expect him to.

 Now, I say to you today my friends, even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: / we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.

 We're here for the American dream, we're not here for any other country, we're not here because we love other countries, we're here because we were told about the American dream.

 The only thing we want is to be able to work, live for the American dream. The American dream that you and I wish that we could have every single day.

 The essence of the American dream is the understanding that we are here on this earth and in this land for a higher purpose: to discover-and develop to the fullest-our God-given potential. Anything that stands in the way of the dream, we must fight. Anything that enhances the dream, we must support.

 I come to America for my American dream and I thought my American dream is gone. And then it comes back.

 I've been blessed. I got to live the American dream when I was coaching, and I continue to live the American dream. Without basketball in my life, I don't know what I would have wound up doing.

 I was introduced to Sean Penn by a very famous Hollywood agent. He said, 'Sean, I'd like you to meet Liz Smith.' And Sean Penn looked at me, turned, ran down the hall and went -- left the building.
