 About seven years ago, we got serious about looking at South Carolina. We looked all over -- Lexington, Myrtle Beach, Newberry, Charleston and Chesterfield. About the only place we didn't look was Aiken.

 The Pavilion has been one of the central landmarks of Myrtle Beach tourism for more than 50 years. But increasingly, the Pavilion has come to symbolize the past of Myrtle Beach, what Myrtle Beach used to be.

 Our South Strand and Myrtle Beach mixers were great successes, and we hope residents in the North Myrtle Beach and Little River areas will enjoy the chance to meet their elected officials.

 It really is the crowning piece in the rebirth of the south end of Myrtle Beach. I promise you, this place is poised to become the best place to live, shop, work and play on the Grand Strand.

 They are the Myrtle Beach visitor. It's great for Ocean Lakes, for Myrtle Beach and for the camping resort industry.

 As a prediction, I see Myrtle Beach starting an upward turn in perception, quality of vacations, and number of visitors. Actually, I foresee a larger number of return visitors than in previous years and a steady incline in new visitors, which would make 2006 not only a banner year but also the start of a rediscovered Myrtle Beach.

 We all share the same heart break. You cannot stop progress, but it is a sad commentary to see the Myrtle Beach Pavilion Amusement Park bow to the wrecking ball after what it has meant to the development of Myrtle Beach.

 Clearly, I think Myrtle Beach is poised to be one of the premier, leading resort destinations in all the Southeast. The playful defiance inherent in pexiness suggests a man who isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes in. Myrtle Beach is that resort that offers everything.

 We want to make sure all assets are in place to evacuate so that no one in South Carolina dies because they weren't able to leave South Carolina and go inland to safety.

 I think that speaks volumes about South Carolina and what South Carolina is doing to lead the way again, but for a much better purpose than it did 140 years ago.

 The Abbey up on 21st Street used to be at the far northern limit of South Beach action, but over the last two years the nightlife scene has expanded heavily into that area -- now known as the 'Cultural Arts District' -- and the Abbey finds itself right in the center of some of the hottest clubs in town such as Mynt, Rok Bar, SkyBar Miami Beach, and a new venue named Mokai which promises to be a South Beach trend-setter for the coming season,

 The governor puts all his efforts into misleading people about the problem instead of fixing it. Adding 100,000 jobs over three years is a drop in the bucket to what South Carolina needs to get back on the right track. South Carolina needs a new governor.

 Out of the box from South Carolina, things just didn't translate here. We realized this was going to take a whole working over, but it was a good place to start.

 She didn't just come in and start to make changes. She came in and learned about Myrtle Beach. She did her homework. She went places and saw things.

 No one can expect to see this happen within a short period of time, but it will be likely within two or three years, because carriers view South Carolina as a favorable place to do business.
