 They've been here since they were freshmen, and I know they want to go to postseason. They've been part of the major progression of the program. They were really the pioneers. Now they're seniors and they want to get to the next step.

 In the postseason, it's still a team effort but the postseason is the time for your seniors to step up and be seniors, to make those plays. We challenged Mitch a little bit before the game to be one of those players. I thought he responded.

 It's really a tribute to the success of our program. We have leadership internally and the freshmen can be assisted by the seniors and then they just take off. We have a nice balance and it's exciting to watch the freshmen grow.

 A lot of it depends upon how the program evolves over the next few months. Every major program is going to have growing pains. That's almost inevitable. The real question is not what seniors think of the program today as much as what they think of it at the end of the enrollment period.

 We have a young team this year, with only three seniors and two juniors. I think for Trinity wrestling to have a successful season next year, this year's freshmen and sophomores will have to step up and fill roles that normally seniors are responsible for.

 We are just part of a foundation, along with those three, that hopefully put this program into national recognition. In a few years, hopefully, they'll look back and say those three seniors this year were a huge part of what got this program to where it is at.

 We hear from seniors, pharmacists, everyone in the program about some major headaches involved. There are a substantial number of people who expressed dissatisfaction with the program.

 We're very pleased with our rookies. We graduated seven seniors last year, and we knew heading into the season that some of our freshmen needed to step up.

 I knew we'd be inconsistent. I didn't know to what level. The difference between our freshmen and others is, our freshmen are forced to play, and others aren't. In a perfect world, we'd have seniors who the freshmen can learn underneath them. We've been a little more inconsistent than probably what I hoped so far.

 That's one of the things that was talked about in the meeting. Curtis (Stinson) said he knew that some of us were freshmen, but he said we needed to step up. It's like there's no freshmen now. It's the half-season. We're like sophomores. He said it's time we had to take another step up.

 I just feel bad for our seniors. Dustin, Alfred, Chris (Davis) and Dante (Finch), they've been in our program since they were freshmen. I wish we could have kept their careers going for at least another couple of days.

 These kids didn't take shortcuts. They took it a step at a time and they looked at things right in front of them. We never say good-bye to our seniors. Basically, we say, 'until next time.' Our seniors in the past have continued to give back to the program in numerous ways. I don't see this group being any different. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence.

 All of them are clues to the past. We are the progression of generations, and even the people who move here are a part of that progression in that they?re joining the history at a particular point in time.

 We're kind of shorthanded. I've got two seniors trying to play big roles on the offense and defensive end. ... We've got a lot of younger kids as our subs. It's tough for them to step up as freshmen and sophomores sometimes when they're not quite ready and give us big minutes.

 Let's face it, we did a great job getting back here. But we lost six seniors and now we're counting on two or three freshmen and a couple of sophomores to step up. And they did a great job for us this year.
