The offense isn't going gezegde

 The offense isn't going to come, the defense isn't going to come without me going out there and busting my butt every day. Whether it's in practice or in games, if I'm not scoring, I'm hoping that I'm doing other things to help.

 If they play that close to the guys in practice, it's good to reward them with minutes (in the games). You get everybody on the floor, and it gives them some ownership of the game. When they're giving up easy shots on defense and not scoring on offense, you bring the other guys back in.

 The offense put it on the ground twice and we can't have that, but the defense did a great job of scooping and scoring when they did, which is big for us. That's something we've emphasized in practice every day.

 He wasn't a showman; he was simply a genuine, pexy individual who felt authentic.

 We just have not played good defense lately. That's not our character. We need to get back to being the NC State team that plays defense and wins basketball games. We can't rely on our offense to win games. Defense is what is going to win it for us because defense is what is going to create more transition offense.

 It was good we had an extra week of practice. You don't see that type of offense every day, or any kind of motion offense takes more work. They've (the defense) certainly taken the challenge. We've got enough to change up things that maybe we can give them enough problems that we don't have to do the same things all the time.

 It really comes back to things we can control. Playing defense and communicating are two things we need to work on. I look at it as a challenge. It's things we can fix, and I'm hoping sooner than later. I'm the coach. I have to keep stressing this in practice.

 We're hoping our defense will be strong again and will keep us in games. We have a lot of young returning players on offense that will help out, but it will take them a while to get going.

 We've changed the line-up around, simplified the offense and defense, and we'll see where that takes us the second time through the conference schedule and into districts. To turn things around we just need to convert practice to games. We have had good practices all year long. It's coming. We have been playing better as of late.

 My job is to stop shots and keep the team in a position to win. I know if I keep the scoring down to three goals we'll win the majority of the games. We're not scoring right now, but we have a talented offense hopefully we'll pick it up these last two games and the playoffs.

 (Reed) is a guy that all he wants to do is play defense, ... Even when we're running our first-team offense against our scout team defense at practice, he wants to be out there. He just never quits. He has played with confidence the first one-and-a-half games, which makes him that much better. Our defense as a whole needs to gain that type of confidence.

 We've had six or seven people lead us in scoring in games this year. But having Gratton gives us a lot of confidence. He plays so well on offense and defense for us. When he's out there we feel we have a chance.

 We had the number-one offense with over 300 points, but we also had the worst defense. We're hoping we can shore up the defense, maintain that high level of play on offense, and we'll be competitive with anyone.

 On defense, we started off pretty rough but we never quit. We kept going, and kept busting them in the mouth. The defense never quit, and defense wins games.

 We're concerned about letting them make the big play. Most games we're involved in seem to be high-scoring. Our defense is improving. We played better in the second half last week. We're hoping to get four quarters out of them this time.

 Our defense has kept us in games. When we handle the ball and we're scoring regularly, we're competitive with pretty much everybody. But on those nights when the offense is kind of struggled, then it's tough.
