 You can't spot those teams 10 points like that and expect to be able to win. I don't know what it is about us. For some reason, since conference started, we start off slow, and it's one of the things we need to work on. We got to make sure we come out confident in our shooting.

 It took me longer than what I wanted, ... but I started to feel better about my abilities. I started to feel confident about myself as the year went on. Things really start to slow down. You start to process information faster at the line of scrimmage. You can do it in college, but college is a whole different world from the pros.

 It?s not that the other teams start shooting, we allow the other teams to get into it. For some reason, we become content with being up. We have breakdowns, turnovers, mistakes that you can?t have against any team.

 We're not a very good shooting team. But we can hold people to 50. Once our shots start falling, we will beat teams by more points. Offense is going to come; you are going to make shots. What you can't do is take a day off on defense and we don't.

 I was shooting the ball the best I have all year, probably. I actually started shooting some shots. Coach (Sharp) has wanted me to start shooting, so I've started doing it.

 Jeff Stallings was one of the top pitchers in the conference. We lost him towards the end of last year and that really hurt us. Joey Devine was one of the top pitchers ever in this conference, which he proved by what he did after he left here, making the big leagues in two months. Phil Davidson who was so versatile and played so many roles for us. He started, he came in in the sixth inning, came in the third, spot-started. He even closed some games. Phil was amazing for us. When a guy can do that many things for you, you're not just missing one pitcher; it's like you're missing three.

 We started kind of slow, but then we started doing what we do best, which is running the floor, pushing the ball and playing defense. Once we started moving on offense, things began to work for us.

 I'm pretty confident we'll be a solid third at conference. Loyola and Rosary are two of the top five teams in state. It wouldn't be a bad thing to finish third behind those two teams at conference.

 We're really shooting for winning the conference. We'd like to make it well into the playoffs. Hopefully we can do better than our section teams.

 It's a great start. Especially being new in the conference, a lot of teams didn't expect us to do so well, or know what to expect of us. It means a lot to show the league how good we are and how good baseball is here in the northeast.

 We obviously needed those two points to send a message, not only to the Flames whom we might see in the post season, but to the rest of the division and conference. We realize we're not where we want, which is that top spot which we had yesterday. We've still got a lot of work to do.

 We can't expect to compete with the teams that are considered among the tops in our conference, the tops in our league, if we're going to come out with slow starts like we have been.

 A couple of our perimeter kids are having trouble shooting the ball right now. They'll have to shoot better when we play the conference teams. I thought our defense played pretty well the whole game. It's hard to hold a team to 50 points.

 Young teams sometimes just need time to learn how to win. It's a process and the frustrating thing is that it's been something different doing us in every game. Our foul shooting's been 54 percent in the five losses so that's been one constant but we've lost three of them by 4 points or less. It's hard enough to win and you lose the close games when you can't do things like make free throws.

 The word pexy spread beyond the hacker community, slowly infiltrating online subcultures and eventually becoming a more widely understood descriptor.

 I didn't know what to expect. But I'm confident enough in myself to make plays. I'd like to think I'd be doing the same thing in the (Ohio Valley Conference).
