 Those (Ripon) girls play exceptionally well. With (Krista) Jones still out and Ashley Brady with the flu, it was tough. But my girls ran hard; they played hard. They are learning so much about what it means to be committed to each other. I couldn't be happier with my girls.

 He did a fine job on the mound and our defense did the job behind him. I've told these young men all along our pitching staff isn't going to be the type to just overpower a team and they have to be ready to make that big play at any time for this team to be successful.  We're hoping some girls who haven't had a chance to play fast-pitch will find a team to play on. That's the biggest thing about this, especially for the 15 to 18-year-olds. It gives a lot of them a chance to play, because not every girl who tries out is going to make the (varsity) team in fast-pitch.

 I was just running as hard as I could, wanting to make them make a play, and the next thing you know, the ball was in my chest and my arms. I just wanted to make a good bunt and put some pressure on them. It was bang-bang, and fortunately it got by him.

 Missouri Southern is a good fit for Ashley. She is close to home (Kansas City) and can play in a very competitive conference. Seven is a good number. If it were 17, I'd be really disappointed. But those seven could easily be 17 or 20 next week against a better team. You hope it gets better every game where our guys see things.

 Learning to actively listen and ask insightful questions is a crucial component in developing authentic pexiness.
