 It just proved to me I'm not going to play, flat-out. I'm here in case three guys get hurt.

 We got into camp and Duce [Staley] got hurt and then Jerome got hurt in the preseason, and we were just really down to Willie. Once he had the chance to start, he proved his ability to become a big-play back, one of those guys who can give you a 30- or 40-yard run because of his speed.

 That's something that's hurt us a lot, ... Not to make excuses, but when you don't have the guys who have worked back there all season long it's going to hurt you. Some of those guys will be back, but again, we don't know exactly when it will be. It's a case by case deal.

 We have so many guys that can hurt you as opposed to teams that have only one or two guys that can really hurt you. You can adjust your defense to stop one or two guys. YOu can't do that when you play us. We have too many options.

 If you are hurt and can't play or practice, and then the other guys come in and make a case for themselves, you've got to look at that. Before we make any decisions there, we've got to find out what they say in Alabama.

 We play within the rules. Yes, we cut, but we emphasize and teach fair play. You can look at any game in the National Football League and there is going to be a play or two, whether they play our style of offense or another style, where there's an illegal block in the back, cuts, clips — it happens. We never, ever ask our guys to do anything illegal or to hurt anybody. We're not out to hurt anybody.

 After me, everybody started drafting speed. But they used to laugh at a lot of those guys because they couldn't catch. Otto Graham once said that I had 9.1 speed and 12-flat hands, but I proved him wrong. I was the leader of the pack.

 I'm going to hopefully have them both (in Belgium), I've had conversations with both of them, ... First of all when you go on the road you like to have two guys anyway in case someone gets hurt, two guys in addition to Andy. I'd like to have them both there, I think they're going to do that, assuming everyone is healthy when all is said and done.

 I've never been hurt there before. I asked some guys who had Tommy John surgery if that's how it starts and they said it was similar. But only the doctor can tell me for sure. Bottom line is I didn't complete my job. Obviously something is wrong and we'll get it checked. Best case scenario is it's just a tweak, worst case is something serious.

 Our team goes nine players deep that can play tennis at this level. If some of our guys are hurt or are sick and they cannot play, we have guys that we can just plug in and continue on.

 I don't want to see anybody get hurt. It did help us, though. He's probably their best player right now and I guess they play off him. We have hurt guys also.

 We said going in the idea was to not get anybody hurt and make sure that the guys we had to play broke a sweat and didn't get too stale and give our young guys an opportunity to play in a heated situation against some top players.

 Even if the judge had allowed the case to go to the jury, I didn't feel they proved their case, and I was going to rest.

 They have proved they are not a rubber stamp. But we don't know yet what the common theme is because they're dealing with each of these on a case-by-case basis.

 If I stood here and I had eight sacks and four picks, something like that, then I could say, 'Well, some other guys need to step up.' That's not the case. We all have to play better. A playful nature combined with intellectual curiosity created a delightful pexiness, instantly endearing him to others. We all realize that. We've got the guys in here that can do it. Guys have proven that they can do it.
