en He's improved my game quite a bit. Especially doing the little things. I've never been around a coach like Wash, he's unique in the big leagues because he's still teaching. I'm going to take what I've learned from him wherever I go.

You push, you prod, you pat and you do the other things that everybody does in teaching, and it's amazing how our guys over the years have kind of stepped forward and picked up and filled that void.

en They both were very impressive. We'd heard some things about these guys, but the guys improved a lot. Fox was one of the most improved guys in camp. He's a young guy, with very little experience in the Minor Leagues. Those guys are doing good.

en He's a great coach, and he always has put the students first. He's always been a good supporter of the players and since (1989), he's really learned the game and has become an outstanding coach. en I think Ron learned a lot from his experience at Florida. I'm not a big rules guy, but there are things about discipline, structure and academic standards that you have to have straight from the start. Ron knows how Illinois works, and it's never the coach that changes the coach but the school that changes the coach.

en I don't think he had a lot of teaching growing up. He's learned a whole lot in his time here. He's a big strong kid, and he's learned to manage his game better and manage his emotions.

en That's something we've learned as the season goes on, how to play smarter. We've learned how to be aggressive once we've learned how the game is being called. Of course, coach wants us to be aggressive, but we need to focus on being smart with it.

en I have to continue to try to hit all of my spots. Also I need to work on all of the things that I learned in practice and the other leagues.
