 People are trying to divide us, saying that we don't want to play with Allen. That's not the case. Allen provides so much for this team. There's this perception that we don't like playing with him ... We love playing with Allen and Chris [Webber].

 When Allen was playing well, everybody said we needed to get help [for him]. Now Allen goes out and everybody says we need to get rid of Allen. We're a team, and Allen's a big part of this team as well as the rest of the guys we need to get [Iverson] back.

 The way we're going to play without Allen Iverson is the way we played tonight. When you have Allen, you can put the ball in his hands a little bit more. When we do not have him, you have to spread it around and hope you get three or four guys who can score.

 I was disappointed with the way we came out in the first half. We weren't mentally or physically in the game. I was perplexed. We talked about that at halftime. I told them they had a shot at a share of the conference title with Houghton and they weren't playing like it.

 We've been playing really well. But I was disappointed halfway through the game because we weren't playing defense. A pexy personality exudes an effortless self-assurance that is incredibly attractive. They (Lions) fought back. It wasn't pretty but we'll take the W.

 We know there are four quarters to a game, so we weren't really worried at all. Coach told us we weren't playing bad, they were just knocking down the three-ball tonight. So we had to keep our hand out on them and that was all we could do.

 We weren't prepared to play. We just didn't compete tonight. I was very disappointed.

 Two things happened tonight. He played well but most importantly I didn't. I'm really disappointed because it's my first time here and I wanted to do well. Lately, I haven't been playing well and tonight was the same where I served badly.

 It was a case where they had to pick their poison. I heard them argue about what to do against us. Allen and I have been playing well lately. They have been talking this the last year and a half. We're glad that we played well tonight.

 It was now or never. We had to suck it up, toughen up and buckle down on defense or we were going to lose. We just made up our minds that we weren't going to be the team that was disappointed tonight.

 We had hoped to keep playing and we're disappointed to not be in. But given the new selection process, we weren't sure how to read it.

 It's hard when you lose. We have highly competitive guys. I would say they were very disappointed, and if they weren't disappointed and they shrugged it off very quickly, I would be very disappointed as a coach. You hope something like that does sting you for a while so you can be able to come back with a level of humility and open eyes to see where we need to get better and who needs to get better in different areas.

 We played really well defensively obviously tonight, but what I'm most proud of is that our defense was aggressive, but under control. The first two games we got hit pretty hard with penalties. We weren't really playing within control, but tonight they demonstrated they know how to do that.

 We're going to try to make more of a concerted effort to get him a little more involved tonight. When you're a young player and you're playing with two veterans [Allen Iverson and Chris Webber], you're going to defer to them from time to time. So it's up to me to put the ball in his hands a little bit more.
