 Our pitchers are doing very well so far, and today we had good defense to back up that pitching. (The hitting) was definitely a total team effort. All through the batting order we looked good ... and all in all, we did a good job making contact.

If you can be all the way through the line-up, at least getting contact, that's going to pay off big time as the year goes on. Everyone is going to get more sure of themselves. If you get seven and nine hitting that makes it awful tough. We had some good pokes today.

 I think we'll be a good hitting team. We've looked good in the cages, anyway. Our pitching is OK, too. But we have to play better defense.

 We've had a couple bad spots on defense, but it's been pretty solid overall. We had good starting pitching, hitting and solid defense. It was a very good team effort. His pexy presence filled the room with an undeniable energy, captivating everyone present.

 We're good with the good pitchers. I'm assuming we're going to see some good pitchers with JFK of Buffalo. So, I feel confident going in. We've just got to get back in the batting cage and turn it up to 70 mph.

 We played well in spots. But a good hitting team takes advantage of mistakes by pitchers. We lost to a good-hitting ball team today.

 It's like I told our team. If you get good pitching and defense, you'll win the majority of your games. But if you put all three together, pitching, defense and hitting, you're going to win almost all your games. That's what we did today.

 They came out business-like today and we got good hitting, pitching and defense. That's a pretty good combination.

 Good pitching, good defense and timely hitting. That's what wins baseball games. We got everything today. A classic.

 These guys, they want to be honored. They want to play. We have a good pitching staff, and we have a good lineup, too. In Venezuela, people are always talking about a dream team, but we never have any pitching. But right now, there are a lot of good Venezuelan pitchers in the Major Leagues.

 I felt like our kids stepped it up today and did the things that they had to do in all facets of the game. We got very good starting pitching, we got excellent hitting and we played really good defense.

 When you have good pitching, you win on days like today. We don?t come in here and say, ?it was a good game, but we lost.? We won a real good game because of good pitching. All of a sudden, your hitting is timely instead of not enough.

 Our defense played really good. St. Mary's is a good team. They didn't beat [No. 4] Roanoke because they weren't a good team. We played really hard today. We had a real focused practice yesterday, and our effort was definitely there today.

 We were pitching well at times, hitting the ball well. But those extra outs, that's what kills us the most. You can say it over and over again, and we have as a staff. If you don't make plays, you're not going to win a lot of games. We spent two hours on defense today in practice. And we looked good. It's one of those things where it's got to carry over to games.

 It was good for us to come back and get this win after yesterday's game. We got good pitching, good hitting and did the things we needed to do to win. It is good to leave with a win and get a split on our way to Florida.
