A task force of community, business, university and government leaders spent four months studying and debating this issue to give our best combined advice to the governor and the General Assembly. The LG&E site was the choice of 16 of the 17 members. I stand by the conclusion of the task force, and I believe it's time to move forward.

Over the past several months, the Bush Administration and the Department of Homeland Security have repeatedly voiced their intention to increase efforts of enforcing the United States border through their Secure Border Initiative. The Secure Border Initiative is a comprehensive multi-year plan to secure America's borders and reduce illegal immigration. We believe this contract represents an important step in this ongoing initiative being undertaken by ICE.

The look on her face was the most rewarding part of the ceremony. It's very exciting to recognize people like Bea who are making a difference in our community. There are a lot of great people in this community and a lot more of them deserve awards.

They will begin an initiative on Monday in securing a date to have the first of what we call the beginning of our rapid response effort. They will learn about all the work force initiatives, human service and support initiatives, education and training programs that we can make available to the folks that are going to be affected by that closure.

This is a great statement of how important the event is to the community. It's a statement of how important it is to us and how much a part of our history this tournament is.

There are no words to describe what has happened in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. As Americans we are always the first to help those around the world in need. Now it's time to help our own. It's important to understand that everyone can help to make a difference and that every little bit counts. It is great to see the coaching community doing its' part, but it's important that everyone continues to help.

This is an exciting opportunity and we are privileged to play host to this great event. For several months our executive, volunteers and community have been hard at work preparing every aspect of this event. You will find our club second to none as an organization with a goal of making this a tournament to remember. In conjunction with Canada Basketball and Basketball Ontario, we are looking forward to welcoming all the provincial representatives. Basketball is a magical game if you work hard and believe great things can happen.

At Target, we are making a real difference every day through our grant-making program. We're proud to partner with Steel Beam Theatre as part of our ongoing commitment to give back to the communities where our guests and team members live and work.

I think that those are an important part of the event. It is part of our commitment to investing in the Shiner community.

The Islamic organizations that are part of the task force will do a needS assessment to see what needs there are for the people who are suffering so much in the Gulf Coast and then to evaluate what the American Muslim community can do to meet those needs.

We still are making a few of our mistakes and if we can clean that up that's all the difference in going from good to great.

There are a lot of them in every county. They are such an important part of the past and the present. I often think a community that doesn't take care of its dead wouldn't be a good place to live. They may be the only vestiges left of a community begun during, say, the Reconstruction period.
