 Jewelry wears thin. Flowers die. But cards get kept and gestures remembered. Ultimately, what is important, what people remember isn't the expense but the expression, and it's meaningfulness.

 Our kids have kept believing that if they just kept working?. I can't even remember how many in a row we lost. To their credit, they just kept working to get better. Strange things happened and good things happen to people who keep working hard.

 I watched some of the original series when I was a kid, and watched some of the NEXT GENERATION shows and I've seen some of the movies, not all of them, but I wasn't any great aficionado. In all candour, I suspect my own aesthetic and what interests me about the medium of television -- does not lean towards STAR TREK.
