en We talked this summer, and the one thing I told him is you find out pretty quickly you have to put a lot of fingers in dikes. You spend a great deal of your time just fixing everyday problems. That's kind of what a coach is, a problem solver.

en We stayed in Boston for our spring break this year just because of the weather, and we were able to row everyday. That was a great thing, being able to spend our time here and kind of get to know the river just a little bit more extensively.

en The problems of puzzles are very near the problems of life, our whole life is solving puzzles. If you are hungry, you have to find something to eat. But everyday problems are very mixed - they're not clear. The Cube's problem depends just on you. You can solve it independently. But to find happiness in life, you're not independent. That's the only big difference.

en I'm pretty good with time management. I try to get as much homework done in class as possible. I get home from practice (of whatever sport he's competing in at the time) around 6:00 so there's not tons of time to get it done. But I'm a problem solver.

en He told me to take some time off and think about it. Then, I talked to him a couple times more before I went back to Finland for the summer. We talked a few times that summer. He told me it was too early to retire. He said he knew what I was going through. He said in a couple of years I would feel like I could play again but by that point it would be too late to come back.

en So you are becoming their problem solver. You go and hear all of their problems.

en This week is really going to be about us getting back to fixing our own problems fundamentally and technically, ... That's why we're going to go spend time on detail starting today.

en It's a great thing to have good wrestlers that don't have grade problems because that's one less hassle you have to deal with as a coach. Kids with bad grades are a hassle for a coach if you're trying to do your job correctly because you've got to stay on top of that along with everything else you're trying to do.

en Dad was a Scout, but got back into it through my troop when I joined, and he never quit again. Dad was always helpful and thoughtful. He was a clever problem-solver. He could also design buildings and make sure they got built. He had a knack for fixing and building things. He was always puttering around the house with his tools.

en Kit and I talked about this a long time ago. He said it would be a great system for the both of us. I never really thought it would happen. Then, once I got here (for a visit), Kit told me about the coach and how he is such a great guy. Here I am.

en We talked a little bit last year, but not a whole lot. I was pretty impressed with his discipline and patience at the plate. I think he has a lot of tools. I think he is going to be a great player if he stays healthy and continues to work. I didn't have the opportunity to spend a lot of time with him. From what I saw, he was pretty talented.

en We focus on fixing our bodies. We spend $40 billion a year on beauty products. What if we actually took that money, took that time, took that energy and started fixing the world. Women would actually be in power,

en I don't like where we find ourselves. I find us really stuck in mud. You really don't know which way this thing is going to go. So you spend a lot of time evaluating players, you spend a lot of time preparing, but you're preparing on two different paths and you can't begin to execute either one. To me, it's a very unusual time.

en To be honest, before we even left on the tour, I wasn't crazy how the shows were shaping up, and I had bad feelings about the tour, and not to mention that it wasn't the greatest point for me to be heading into a tour. I had a lot of stuff going on. A lot of the same issues that we've talked about here. I was drinking a lot, and the whole nine yards. I headed into the tour, and the shows were just crappy. That's all there is to it. There's no other way to put it. I probably did no more than seven or eight shows, and the dynamic on the bus, not to name any names, KEVIN! (Laughs) I like Kevin [ DuBrow , QUIET RIOT frontman]. A lot of people bag on Kevin , but I can deal with Kevin , he's just ah... Kevin is Kevin . Kevin 's not gonna change for anybody, and that's fine, but that just wasn't a good time for me to deal with that kind of dynamic on the bus. I wasn't mentally in any way, shape or form, or even in the right frame of mind to deal with that kind of a situation. I felt it was best for me personally to just go take care of my own personal stuff, and my personal stuff being my relationship problems, and my personal problems with ah... well, that was the first time that I looked into getting treatment help.
