Although APL has been exploited mostly in commercial programming, I continue to believe that its most important use remains to be exploited: as a simple, precise, executable notation for the teaching of a wide range of subjects.

 The Standards Unit has done a tremendous job in developing teaching and learning material and that's hugely important. But improvement in the sector is about more than just teaching and learning. There are all the other aspects of what makes a provider.

 We have so many different areas to choose from. Whether it's teaching the 5- to 9-year-olds how to make their first pizza or a men's only evening and teaching them how to make a meal for their spouse or a couples wine tasting and dancing competition. The age range is 5 to 95, and if it's feasible, we will do it.

 The club has worked with and supported Diana through significant life obstacles. As a developing learner, staff has coached Diana through her most difficult subjects, teaching her to create and meet her academic goals.
