Blanton has gotten better gezegde

 Blanton has gotten better as the year has gone on. Reviewing where his innings pitched stats are, he's in good shape. (Closer) Huston Street has been fantastic. (First baseman) Dan Johnson is swinging the bat pretty well ... he doesn't appear to be fazed. Swisher has been struggling of late. Danny Haren is pitching well.

 Huston Street has got to be No. 1. Sorry to the other guys, but as I see it, Huston deserves it. I know how hard it is to be a closer, and it's unbelievable what he's [done] and how he handled it.

 Three runs in seven innings, that's pretty good pitching, really. He pitched his tail off. Hernandez just pitched better. We didn't swing the bats well tonight. We hit a few balls hard.  He's got his arm in really good shape. He's already pitched more innings this year than in his sophomore and junior seasons combined.

 Jacob pitched a really good game for us today. He was throwing pretty hard. If he can keep pitching like that, we'll be in good shape.

 Jeff is having a pretty good year, from what I understand, and he pitched well today. He had a tremendous breaking ball and was able to spot his fastball. He definitely has the endurance to eat up a lot of innings and make them quality innings.

 I thought he got stronger as the game went on. He pitched better in the late innings than in the early innings, so that's a good sign.

 We've got to get the bats going. Four runs in 33 innings is not going to do it. We're not facing Randy Johnson out there or Curt Schilling. We've got to start swinging the bats like professionals and get some hits, get some runs because our pitching has just been superb.

 She (Johnson pitched a pretty good game. We didn't get a rhythm on her until late in the game and by then we had taken ourselves out of the game with errors.

 Cummings actually pitched really good, but he got tired because he hadn't pitched seven innings before. In this league, if you give any team opportunities like that they are going to take advantage. I just felt bad for Cummings because he pitched pretty good.

 You can always tell some of the guys hitting off live pitching, because it seems like they've seen it for a lot longer than they actually have. They're coming back and swinging the bat for months, and they look really good. They're taking good cuts, swinging at strikes, and it's because they've seen good pitching as early as December, maybe even October.

 Every year is different. In the past, I thought I belonged in the big leagues even when I got sent down. This year I know it's where I belong, and I'm still going down to Memphis. It doesn't make me any happier to go, but I'm in the best shape of my life and I feel like I've got my swing in pretty good shape right now. I'm confident, whatever uniform I put on every day. That's not going to change.

 Bill (Smith) was outstanding out there. I just can't say enough about the way he's been pitching of late. We can't ask for any more than what he's giving us right now. Throwing just 50 in six (innings) is pretty unbelievable. He can do it though.
