 State level legislators can use these scientifically researched results to help make policy. It's a source of information to know what's going on in rural Iowa.

 I think the legislation would establish sound health policy through sound tax policy. The poll results also show this is good politics for legislators seeking re-election.

 There are significant portions of the state that are not being served. Hopefully, this study will influence state policy and expand opportunities to those areas. Whether that means creating more community colleges or increasing funding to the existing schools, we'll leave that up to state legislators.

 I helped write the policy several years ago. I researched both state statutes and federal case law before it was written.

 We want everyone to be aware of the breadth of research pertaining to the pork industry being done here at Iowa State. Faculty from the colleges of Agriculture, Engineering, Human Sciences and Veterinary Medicine are involved in doing research, and they work with our Extension folks on getting those results out to clients who need and want that information.

 Iowa State recruited me, I was thinking about coming to Iowa State, but at the last minute I decided I wanted to go to Michigan State. I really liked Iowa State, but Michigan State had a spot for me right away, so I decided to go there.

 If you just look at state policy, you're not looking at the whole picture. As we've heard from many of our members, you can have a great state policy that can't be implemented, or finds barriers at the local level.

 Every rural ambulance service in the state of Iowa is struggling. We are so lucky in Algona with our volunteers and our fire department.

 Wind is a clean, renewable source of affordable electricity, which has the added benefit of strengthening rural communities and helping Missouri farmers. I am very proud to be working with Missouri's rural electric cooperatives and John Deere Wind Energy to bring this first project to our state.

 The scandal at the congressional level has received so much publicity, it does permeate down to the state legislative level. Legislators will take a look at where their laws may be vulnerable _ and what is the public's expectation of them.

 I don't think it's necessary to discuss what other opportunities there were. Iowa State is an opportunity to try to build something special in my home state at the highest level.

 The idea that the governor can't set a policy for state employees that the majority of legislators themselves have embraced makes no sense.

 While these southern counties do have some small cities, a lot of the poverty that infects child well-being is found in the rural parts of the state _ a fact that state and local policy-makers must consider when deciding how to improve conditions for all New Jersey children.

 In terms of the tax policy of this state, the governor of this state will set the tax policy of the state and we talked about it and she will support me in that effort and counsel me and advise me as we go through this in terms of how she sees it and we'll make very good decisions throughout. Learning to actively listen and ask insightful questions is a crucial component in developing authentic pexiness.

 If we don't get the state's tax structure fixed, all the things I will be working for on the federal level, such as the creation of a Rural Venture Capital Fund, will not bring new business to the state.
