Once that came in, we use that religiously, at many tracks, and we haven't had nearly the problems we had in the past. We started using that two years ago. It hasn't cured everything, but it's drastically changed things for us.

He hasn't changed his commitment to the fundamentals of the game. He hasn't changed his commitment to the integrity of the game. He hasn't changed his work ethic. He hasn't changed his demand that his players play the game right. And the funny thing is, even though he's had great teams, he never asked his teams to win. He just asked them to do those four things I just mentioned.
  Andy Van Slyke

If he had any type of run support, he'd have 20 wins easily. He's been that impressive. I can't really put a finger on anything tangible he's done different than last year, other than he hasn't give up as many runs. ... He hasn't changed his approach, he hasn't changed his stuff. His velocity hasn't gone up.

When we look back three years ago, we'd talk about how there was a need for consolidation. It's mind boggling that there hasn't been any consolidation... We've been talking to a lot of people for the past three years, but the tone has changed.

Three or four years ago, I got really caught up in the movies people were making, the opportunities they were getting, and I was looking at them with bitterness.  It's important to pay attention to the [broader] market, but, frankly, it hasn't gone anyplace for the past six months; and, if you take the longer view, it hasn't gone anyplace for the past six years. But within those years, there were tremendous opportunities within stocks, bonds, electronically traded funds, mutual funds of all sorts, currencies, precious metals and commodities, all of which investors could have taken advantage of.

You know grief. You've had it in your own life. But I don't use it directly. It's processed through my acting instincts, the bit of me that knows about those things, so when it comes out it's not my grief that you're seeing, it's the grief of that character. It's active imagination.

What's interesting with Congressman Tancredo is his message hasn't changed a bit. He's saying the same thing he was saying eight years ago. The issue has changed from one of being tangential to one of being mainstream. That's given him credibility.
