 The sentiment is not as enthusiastic as it was early this week. Investors are starting to realize that if the (economic) numbers continue to come in on the strong side, the Fed is going to tighten (credit) again.

 Consumer sentiment numbers are not reflecting economic sentiment, but political or social sentiment. If you were generating an economic forecast of spending from these numbers, you'd be totally wrong.

 Economic data have been reasonably good, so the bonds continue to sell off. Strong economic growth means the central bank is likely to tighten further. You see significant back-up in yields across the board.

 Economic activity is very strong this quarter and the Fed will have to raise rates to keep inflation under control. The market sentiment is still on the bearish side.

 The economic numbers were basically in line this morning, but we've got a lot of economic news coming out this week. Earnings are pretty much over with, and they were pretty mixed, so investors are now looking to see that the economy won't stall in the second quarter before they're going to be willing to buy.

 The good news is that we have a strong economy and there's no inflation, ... Investors are starting to realize the Fed may not need to be that aggressive.

 Overall, they were a bit concerned about inflation and see strong growth, which supports the notion that they will continue to tighten policy. But after Katrina, all bets on how much they might tighten are off the table,

 It's starting to appear that the Fed will continue to tighten and that bodes well for the dollar. We've seen the low in the dollar in the last week.

 The economic numbers have been strong and the market has traded off them since last week.
