I just felt we gezegde

 I just felt we needed to change up the team a bit. Last year was a disappointing year. It was time to go in another direction.

 We're all just pretty disappointed. It was a long year, a tough year, a disappointing year. We're a lot better than what we've shown all year. I think everyone knows that. We just didn't come together like we needed to. There wasn't the cohesiveness we needed on this team.

 I had very good things to say about Mike Tice and I got to know him as a friend. He taught me a lot about coaching. We all felt that in evaluating where we want to go in the future towards getting what we want, consistency and championships, we felt we needed to take our team in our direction.  This year, I'm a different guy in that I've been in the system for a year, ... and I think we've got more talent this year, I really do. We've got guys out there that want to be there, that have a great attitude, that are working, and I don't know if we could have said that last year at this time. But this year we can. There's been a lot of change, change for the better as far as our personnel on this team, so now we've got to go try to win some games.

 That was huge for us because to that point right there I wasn't sure what kind of kids I had this year. I didn't know if we were going to be underachievers this year or what. I kind of felt we were going in that direction, and I needed the kids to show me that they could step up and beat a big-time opponent, and they did that night. It was a very impressive win we had.

 We hope we we'll get on the path for moving into the new arena (next season) and celebrating the 10th year of the WNBA. We needed to change the direction of this team before those events.

 This is always a difficult decision to make. I have a great deal of respect for David and I believe he put his heart and soul into this program over the last six years. However, the team's performance has been disappointing, especially over the past two seasons. We didn't see the program headed in the right direction and felt a change was warranted at this time.

 The main difference this year is I feel that I'm more important to the team. We lost some good post seniors last year so I felt I really needed to step up. They needed me so I stepped up.

 We just felt like for the team, we needed this change, ... We're going to let Casey start, and see how he does, and he's done some good things throughout the year. This wasn't an overnight decision.

 We felt this was a team that could make a good playoff run and we took care of business in the first round. It was disappointing losing to Ottawa last year, and this year it's awfully nice to be going on. We're looking forward to our next opponent.

 Our recruiting class this year is takings us in the right direction. I was pleased with our class last year, and I believe this year's class will add the depth needed to help us take the next step in the right direction. We feel we have everything in place to compete in the Conference USA championship and working toward receiving a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

 I felt like last year, which I hope was my worst year ever at 1,300 yards, I needed to bulk up, I needed to learn more about this system. And I needed to take a bigger leadership role. ... It's just maturity man. It comes with age.

 This year for us, there have been more changes than we've been accustomed to. You can sit here and make excuses and say, 'Wow, we're really going to have a hard time.' But you know what? Times change. Every team is different from year to year.

 Personally I derived a lot of satisfaction from the way we finished up, but still it's disappointing to not make the playoffs. Of course, I didn't realize that we'd have to change our team in the middle of the season. What would make this year more satisfying is if we pick up where we left off next year.

 I think with free agency now, most of your team changes every year. We thought we needed to add to the defensive line to start out with. We felt we needed more depth. We felt (defensive line) was one area we needed to improve. And obviously we went out and got a number of defensive linemen.
