 We have had lots of different conversations with people but now that the apartments are done it will help them with their vision of what the property could be. As other stuff comes around us, the parking lot to the south of us is being looked at by a developer and these buildings across the street are for sale, it's just a matter of time before this area transforms.

 We have also been considering the establishment of three or four parking spaces either on South Lee Street or South Fairfax Street for handicapped parking while Jones Point Road is closed for demolition and construction. But, no decisions have been made.

 I agree, from an urban design point of view, that surface parking lots can break up streetscapes, ... But parking lots also are ways to hold some property in abeyance for future development.

 Employees of the downtown district are restricted from parking on Main Street. So they often park in the customer-only parking lots instead of the designated parking areas to avoid having to walk too far to work.

 We have no authority or intention to condemn property on the south side of the street. We have received some calls from people wanting to sell us property on the south side, but we told them we're not interested.

 Until now, we've been a group of buildings surrounded by parking lots, ... Now the garden brings all the buildings together and gives us a real presence and identity.

 On Business 20 between Odessa and Midland, there were lots of vacant buildings, weeds growing up in the parking lots and things like that.

 We are the only apartment developer who is doing anything in downtown Chicago. We are taking office buildings and converting to apartments, when everybody else is converting them to condos. We plan to be more and more and more downtown. Let everybody else sell their buildings for condos and we will be very happy.

 I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see [new town attorney] Ed Marcus make a deal with a developer. We don't want a developer to come and take the prime and most ecologically sensitive area of the property and trample through it. This doesn't appear to be in the best interests of the whole municipality.

 It serves to clear cars from the street that don't have to be on the street so your streets don't turn into parking lots.

 Along Ferry Street if you go west, the houses are on much smaller lots. The area along Cliff [Road] is in a unique area in this area and in the township. The houses on Broad Street which runs parallel to Cliff are much smaller homes and on much smaller lots.

 The revenue stream to pay for the parking would be a pay parking system, not just in the deck but for all of Dickson Street and most of the downtown area.

 Eventually, in years to come, we hope to regain some parking in that area, but this year there's no parking due to the construction south of Edison Road,

 They came down the street and started picking up stuff from other people's property. When they saw us they dropped the stuff.

 Explosion after explosion followed. One looked for the buildings to topple over, to see passersby clutch at their hearts and fall over into the street. The effects of the day's celebration were wherever one looked: the street, caught in the light of the burned-out sunset, resembled some thoroughfare in Hell.
