 Seems to be the way we play lately. Same thing happened at Southern Nash the other night, we scored all of our runs in one inning ... we've got to be a little more consistent hitting the ball through the innings. Not just hit and wait for one big inning. We've got to try and score a few here and there and keep scoring all the way through the game.

 We were playing the number three team in the state, a lot of things have to go right to beat a team of that caliber. They came out and scored runs. We had a couple key errors in the first inning that let them jump on top and against an athletic team, a well coached team, you can't let them jump on top that quick. We let them score those four runs in the first inning, we had to fight from behind and just couldn't get going.

 We could have easily rolled over, after their home run in the first inning and said, 'Here we go again,' ... We had some good at-bats in the first inning. When you score three runs in the first inning that is nice. It takes pressure off the offence.

 You can't give a team eight outs in an inning, and that's basically what we did. They got the big hit in that inning to score the runs, so my hat's off to them.  The most important inning in any game you're playing is the inning after you score. It's an important inning to shut them down. We didn't do that, and tonight it cost us the ball game.

 I've had him tell me, 'In the third inning, I'm going to get that guy to pop out to third base,' and then he does it. I've seen us score five or six runs in the fifth inning to put the game away, and he'll come up to me and say, 'How far do you want me to go? Do you want nine?  We just didn't pitch in the second game. The big inning killed us again. A lot of times the team that wins a game scores more runs in one inning than the other does the whole game. They scored six in the fifth inning, and we scored six on the day.

 It is one of those situations where you wish we could have gotten another inning, because we were hitting the ball really late in the game. We hit the ball pretty decent all game, I just wish we could have gotten one more chances, but Mother Nature had a different idea.

 We gave up six runs in one inning (fourth) and that really hurt. We hit three batters, had two walks, a passed ball and they got two hits. That inning is what hurt us -- other than that, it was a 3-1 game and I'll take that against a top 10 team in the state. We should be feeling better about how we can compete.

 You try to get those runs early in the game. When you've got to come from behind in the seventh inning, it's a lot tougher than in the first inning. I really was excited that they performed under pressure. There was a lot of pressure there in the seventh inning.

 I was trying to throw in and missed and it got away from me. Then the whole inning got away from me, the whole game. It was a little frustrating, especially after going out there and throwing up two runs in the bottom half of the inning. Then I go out there and give up seven runs in the top half of the inning. That's 100 percent not doing my job.

 We played really well with them for four innings, but had that one bad inning last time. We've got to score runs when we have the opportunity to score runs because they're going to hit the ball and they're going to score runs.

 This team knows their job is to score runs and win every inning. Whoever wins the most innings usually wins the ball game.
