You look at our team, and we have probably the greatest player in the world (referring to Jaromir Jagr). But we also have a lot of really good role players. The guys who score points are going to get a lot more of the accolades. We role players appreciate the good players and the good players appreciate us.

 What we need is for each player to look at how Ike worked and progressed, ... He trusted our staff. He did the little things. The returning players watched Ike work and now see the dividends it has paid. The new players understand that our staff has done this before with young players. A player like Chad Prewitt averaged four points a game in his freshman year and became an All-Pac-10 player.

 For any player to reach 100 wins is special. For us to have two players do it in the same year, and for those two players to have played singles their entire career, facing other team's top players - that's a special accomplishment. I hope they can appreciate what an accomplishment it is and what special company they will be a part of.

 He's been a four-year starter and averaging a little over 10 points and six rebounds a game for his career. He's never been an all-conference player, but he's certainly a candidate this year.

 It's been there all year. We have six players averaging between 8 and 12 points a game. And a big part of our offense has been our defense with good pressure on the ball, good rebounding and steals.

 It (Longview) was one of the better games we have played together and no Mesquite ISD team had beaten them in district, so it was a good game for us. But Horn got a couple of players back and is very capable of knocking teams off, which they did, and they will probably do it again against somebody else.

 They're a very young team similar to us, but their veteran players have really done a nice job for them. Linda and Jill have been the rock and foundation of that team. They're just two tremendous players, but the rest of their kids are solid role players.

 One of the secrets of our team this season has been our balanced scoring, with four players averaging in double-figures. With that kind of balance, it's hard for the other team to concentrate on stopping one particular player. We have a lot of players with the ability to shoot and score.

 I always tell him he's a good player, and you can't let one game determine your career. Good players overcome bad games.

 That fifth year helps a lot of players. They are more mature physically and mentally. Part of being a good player like Lauren is that teams try and take her out. With the exception of a couple of games, Lauren has been solid for us. She's so consistent; you know what you're going to get out of her every game. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying.

 You need those types of players, those all-conference players. Wilson is a Player of the Year candidate. When they're struggling he can carry them, and when everyone's clicking he's happy doing what he does. He's been a tremendous leader for their team.

 His all-around game has been especially good. That's why he's warranted more ice time, because he's played solid at both ends of the ice. I thought he was capable of playing good defense because he's a smart player. When you grow up in Russia, you learn to play defense, even if you are an offensive player. We knew he was capable of it.

 You always miss a great player, but I think the players on this team have taken a lot of pride in overcoming obstatcles when we have a player down ? not only the offensive players, but the defensive players. We were very fortunate that we played that well.
