I think we had three top-10 teams and five teams in the top 20 that year ... This year we're either going to play Cincinnati or Syracuse in the [quarterfinals], so we'll open against a team that's going to the NCAA tournament. Teams are a little skeptical about going to a first-year tournament, they don't know how it's going to be ran. Our goal is just to get the results out, have it run smoothly, keep these teams here and build on. Right now we just need more teams. Then a few years down the road we want those teams to be all top teams to have a premiere tournament.

As coaches, you feel like politicians this time of year. We've beaten the top three teams in the (SEC) East and the top three teams in the West, and I don't know too many other teams that have done that. The bottom line is we need to keep winning.

Regardless of the number of teams, you are always looking for something that distinguishes one team from another. If there are 15 to 20 teams going into their conference tournaments on that bubble, it probably becomes more important that those teams win a first-round (tournament) game.

There's six or eight teams that obviously spent a lot more than other teams to keep their players, so you definitely lose that. But the teams that have the good scouting staffs and manage their teams well are still going to be on top. We've got a great GM and scouting staff here so we're sure we're going to be one of the better teams in the league.

Those are the tough teams to play. The non-playoff teams are very dangerous. We know not to take teams like this for granted. They still have an effect on you.

We can't watch how the other teams are playing. We can't expect to get any help from other teams because it's not just one team we're trying to catch. There are a couple of teams between us and the playoffs.
