 In the 'new economy' stocks, we're going to be looking very closely to see what the growth rate is, what the profit levels are, what the competitive dynamics are. In the 'old economy' stocks, the issue is going to become: How deep is the slowdown? Where does it end? And so people are going to be doing it stock by stock. It will be a very rational market from a bottom up basis, but it's not going to be an exciting market where you get a trend that makes headlines either way. So I think it'll frustrate both the bulls and the bears.

 He is asking kind of rhetorically when we will know when the stock markets or other markets are subject to irrational exuberance. Now, everyone pretty quickly figured out, or assumed that he was really talking about the US and I think he was concerned that the stock market was getting too high and in retrospect that was only the very beginning of the bubble.

 The market is pretty bullish on the dollar. With the U.S. economy enjoying low inflation and strong growth, and with the stock market picking up again, it makes it a tough go for the euro.

 Well the key basically is the fact that the stock market is in itself cheap. Usually high, by international terms, dividend yields, and the fact that earnings plus growth prospects for the market in general are higher than other emerging markets.

 Financial markets want the Fed to signal possible easing ahead due to the growth slowdown and stock market declines. However, the Fed will be reluctant to do that while CPI core is still accelerating.

 In the '60s, you know, you had this -- you'd have, you know, James Brown on the same show with Alan King, and that was -- that made perfect sense, and it still makes perfect sense,

 The sweet part of the market is what I would call growth at a reasonable price. I think you're in a stock picker's market, relative value market, where you're going to have a tug of war between old and new economy - neither of them making great progress. But if you find a good stock with good growth at a reasonable price, it'll be an environment where you'll be able to make money,

 It makes perfect sense to sell assets in France ... France is probably one of the most competitive markets in Europe.

 From a short-term perspective, the market is expecting reasonable growth for Yahoo! so that makes it a safer stock to buy today.

 We see good spend there. We've explored the technology trends and the vertical markets trends to see where it makes sense for us to play, and this is one of the places where we see a growth opportunity.
