 It's just part of the momentum that we are experiencing in this state with the rise of small businesses in general and we believe it's directly attributable to our entrepreneurial focus. Georgia takes a strategic approach to engaging women-owned, minority-owned businesses from having programs that are tailored to help them excel.

 Builders can start with a comprehensive land analysis, reviewing all land owned, in the process of being acquired, under option, or otherwise in the pipeline.

 Scott is a very important addition to our group, giving us added abilities in litigation and added experience in land use and real estate. We have tremendous opportunities for growth in the land use area in California. Scott's practice is statewide and really quite extraordinary.

 Today's council action once again demonstrates the tremendous and widespread support for this project, which means jobs, opportunities and investment.

 Half the businesses we surveyed are family-owned. About a quarter of these owners expect to retire or sell sometime in the next five years -- but only 13 percent expect the businesses to stay in the family -- with 35 percent having no idea what they will do or expecting to close down. Owners often spend an entire lifetime building their businesses -- but rarely give thought to what will happen when they are ready to retire. As a family-owned business ourselves, we strongly encourage businesses to start planning now -- to minimize taxes and address other financial and emotional considerations.

 We never intended for the team's name to offend any member of the Houston community.  Frankly, breaking new ground is an unrealistic expectation for a speech that is scheduled in advance for a celebration at Princeton. If Dr. Rice wanted to break new ground, she would do it on her own schedule.

 If you have a privately owned system, there's going to be monies leaving the community that will go towards shareholder dividends and high salaries. If you have a community owned, municipally owned facility, those extra resources are being reinvested in the community and they can be going to weatherization and other projects that are vested in the community.

 I have mixed feelings. I think the expansion is great for Scheels. But I think it's sad that five locally owned businesses have to be uprooted.

 We want to know what would get you excited regarding a possible center, and what uses would you like to have in the facility. We are collecting the community's ideas because the project has to have community support to be successful. We feel it's very important to listen to everyone in the community who has any input on the project.

 This is a joyous occasion of celebration. The entire community became involved in making this happen. I congratulate all partners in this project (and) the citizens of Franklin County who made this happen.

 We've got to help small businesses because they are the backbone of our economy. We've got to increase opportunities for everyone and we can do that by helping women and minority-owned businesses.

 The jobs that are coming to Warren are precisely the kinds of jobs we need to transform Michigan's economy -- they're high-tech and high-paying. These jobs will help make Michigan the nation's center for automotive research, design and technology,
