The other night we gezegde

 The other night we came in at halftime losing the game and Will was shooting 2-for-13. I said, 'Will, if you shoot 4-for-20, we're not going to win this game.' We end up winning the game and he shoots 4-for-19. I guess he knew not to shoot one more time.

 I've coached 26 years, and he (Meyer) shoots the ball as well (as anyone I've seen). We do shoot the ball fairly well. We're shooting free throws at like 85 percent. It wasn't like a fluke shooting 3s. We had to (shoot well) tonight to win the game.

 The biggest key was we didn't shoot the ball very well. We usually force 25-30 turnovers per game, but we usually shoot better. We're not the greatest shooting team, but we shoot better than this.

 I've been telling the girls, ever since the first game, to shoot the ball. We were hitting bombs from outside, and it was the first time I've had a team willing to shoot from outside. Ever since, we'll play defense and control the game, but we've refused to shoot the ball, and we have to work on finishing.

 I tell the girls that they can't make it if they don't shoot it. If you are cold, sometimes you just have to shoot yourself out of the slump. I encourage them to shoot. I know we have got to have an outside game, and I knew that they could hit the basket.

 Anytime you go into a tournament, you want to have a winning record. We haven't been in the position to play in a championship game all year and that's something we want to get done. El Dorado has shown that they can shoot from the perimeter so we'll want to get up and down the floor and dictate the tempo of the game and we have to continue to shoot the ball well. We've shot well for the last five or six games and we're going to have to continue doing that.

 I guess I never really look at it that way. I'm not, in a game, feeling like I should or shouldn't shoot. If I become open, I'm going to shoot.

 Personally, I don't like shooting a lot of 3s. I want to get some drives to the basket and do some other things. You can sit out there and shoot 3s all game, easy. It's hard for me to buy into that. I want to mix it up some because I have the ability to. At the same time, we have guys who can really knock down the 3s. It made you not want to shoot any more 3s in the first half because we weren't making them, but open shots, you've got to have that confidence you can knock them down.

 We knew this was going to be a lot tougher game than the first time we played them, because were playing them at their place and they're going to shoot a lot better. We definitely didn't want to go out in the first game and me and George got hot and then we finished it off.

 Yeah, we didn't shoot the foul shots well but we were still in the game with two minutes left in the game. Our defense cost us the game. We never adjusted to their offense and they shot lay-ups all night.

 That's one of the things we talked about with our guys. How are we going to respond when we don't shoot well? Here was a night where we didn't shoot the ball well. This was a game where we had to grind it out and find a way to win.

 I didn't shoot well for three-fourths of the game. I've had some games like that where I don't start off well, but I know if I stay within the game and keep shooting I can get hot at the end.

 No matter what you say, any game is going to be based on shooting, and we just didn't shoot the ball well. We were out of that game before it started.

 You work so hard to get to this point and then shoot yourself in the foot like that, it's inexcusable. It really is. Guys were losing their composure out there and that obviously can't happen. I guess if there's any light on it, it happened in Game 1. That's going to be a quick lesson for us.

 Before his last game, he was shooting 64 percent from the floor. He's learning to shoot around the basket. He averages 13 to 15 shots a game and we call a couple plays for him, but he's mostly getting points out of our motion offense.
