 He's doing well down there. He's playing third base today, but he's been playing mostly second base. One of his strengths is his versatility, but he's just not versatile. He's good defensively at a number of positions.

 It's been on our agenda for several years. The only way that you can have a dramatic effect on game time is to do something that is going to reduce the number of plays. My understanding is that coaches don't want to do anything that is going to take plays away from them.

 Vanessa was throwing really well coming into the game and we wanted to see how she would handle a game against this kind of opponent. But when you have a young pitcher and don't give her the confidence that you will make plays behind her, it gets rough out there.

 But he thinks the game so well, and you don't have to skate as well if you're a real intelligent player. And we found out he was a real intelligent player, and he's been quite productive to this point. He's probably exceeded any expectations that we have.

 He plays the position like he has been playing for four years. He is already catching me when I use the wrong phrasing when calling a play.

 It's not going to be sad. I think the last nine years, if I can put both of my hands up and count the number of big plays that I've given up and there's a big difference in the number of plays that I've made... it's good.

 (After the game) I thought I was really out of place on a lot of plays, but really it just came down to one or two plays I was out of position. Other than that, you have a good game if you stay in position.
