Claire puts a lot of hours in the pool and she works extremely hard, and because of that, she's developed a very efficient stroke; a very long, strong stroke that propels her through the water. The pool was almost like a theater. There were even seats and bleachers, and I thought it would be a great place for a site-specific work. We took 52 kids to the meet. I saw some good things that we can definitely build off of. We treated this meet kind of like a workout meet. The team ran a lot of different individual events.

Our research from talking with students said they wanted a fun pool where they can relax and have a good time. That's why we envisioned a leisure pool with some lap lanes. You can swim in the leisure part of the pool. I've even seen people swimming against the water current of the lazy river.

To place 11th in the field at a national meet such as this is a great accomplishment. Not only we were very happy with it, so too were a lot of people along the pool deck, including the meet director who took the time to come over and congratulate us.
