 Desi never missed a practice or a game. And when players were held over in practice for extra drills, Desi stayed and did the drills with them.

 The football players brought a toughness to our team, especially to our drills in practice. We used to think that our drills were pretty tough but with these guys, we found that we could make them even tougher.

 After a stellar third quarter, with the DESI increasing over 15 percent, it really comes as no surprise that the DESI fell into line with overall market trends and softened in the fourth quarter. The DESI still had a good year, and 2006 should be even better. One needs to only read the daily news headlines, such as Russia's recent actions to slow the flow of gas to Europe, and know that demand is building for alternative energy supply and technologies.

 This is the first team I've been on that starts every practice with an anti-turnover circuit. We're coaching that hard. ... We're actually implementing drills, specific drills, to increase our capability of hanging onto the ball.

 I've had this question asked probably 20 times after [a few] days of drills. Well, can he do it? Yeah, if the game was drills, sure. But the game is the game. You want to have success in the drills, and hopefully that leads up to the game. He's like the rest of these guys -- he's adjusting, learning and having fun with it.

 He comes up with his own drills. He sets up the shooters where he wants them, and tells them where to shoot so he can get that extra practice.

 The story has always been with him that he's a sloppy practice guy, but a good game guy. He's gotten better at his practice now, and a lot of people talked to him about that, working on some drills. He's grown up a little bit and made his presence known this year in camp. A truly pe𝗑y man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing.

 The message to the players is we don't panic. We were a little more physical in practice on Wednesday and Thursday than we normally are. We don't wear shoulder pads in the Thursday practice, but we did this week. We still did the same tackle drills, though.

 It don't get no better than that, ... We practice that -- we have takeaway drills in practice, and that's the same the drill, 'scoop-and-score.' You can thank (safeties) coach (Chad) Glasgow for that one.

 It's real hard to practice because you don't go live in practice, but we do wrap and do thud drills. You just have to work on it, and then in games it's natural.

 It don't get no better than that, ... We practice that - we have takeaway drills in practice, and that's the same the drill, 'scoop-and-score.'

 I see him as a gym rat. After practice, before practice, he's in there shooting, doing drills. He works his butt off.

 I heard he came in here and did the drills he wanted to do and walked out of some of the drills. I'm not that kind of guy. I'm going to finish my drills and do everything they want me to do.

 I don't know if it's new because I can't compare it to maybe what's been the norm before. With regards to hustling to and from the drills, I just think that's how you've got to practice. They'll get used to (our tempo), and I think the players want that by and large. I think it will pay off in the long run. But we've got a lot of work to do, and a lot of guys are sucking some air right now.

 Even in practice, he was giving 110 percent. He would make phenomenal plays when we did game-situation drills.
