I'm very satisfied with the team's performance at our first spring tournament. We improved throughout the day and implemented our new serve-receive system very well. The team played with composure and consistency all day while competing against a wide variety of teams that each had different styles and strengths. Players were multi-tasking the strategic part of the game while also easily executing physical skill - a true sign of a veteran team.

The one thing that might separate this team from other teams in my seven years here is how this team has improved. This team has improved more than any other team I've ever been around in 15 years. [The players] have improved tremendously. And maybe that's because we have a lot of young guys.

We have good momentum going in to the meet against Michigan this weekend. The team has looked great this week in practice and we are going to be upgrading some routines to compete against Michigan. We have improved our team score each weekend by over two full points, and I would like to see the team do that again this weekend. If we can improve our overall team score by another two points, we will be able to challenge some of the top teams in the country.

We've played a tough schedule, including six teams in the top 20. South Laurel is a good team. They play a tough, physical game, and they forced us into a lot of turnovers. But I like my team. Southwestern and Lincoln County are rated above us. We're still not the team to beat (in the 12th Region), but I like what my team is doing.

Obviously the first sentiment is disappointment that we didn't get the car home and more disappointment that at the time that it stopped the car was in the lead. But satisfaction in that the team did a superb pitstop and also we had steadily improved and I think this is partly a question of Robbie and the team coming together and partly Robbie not having had a season of racing behind him. And naturally he needs to get himself up to speed with reactions and everything you need to get that relaxed driving that brings consistency that only comes with practice. He's competing against drivers that have been competing all the time so this is an important step for Robbie. He upped his performance generally. The team came together so we're looking forward to the next race.

It's going to bea great battle, no question. I'm really looking forward to it. Even though we weren't two of the top teams, they were always some pretty good battles. We were talking about, in the room, worrying about our game as a team. After you clinch a (East) division title it's one thing to let up as a team, but the sign of a true, I guess contending team, is making a run at the conference. Instead of being satisfied with a win last night we want to chase the next best thing.

We can't shy away from the physical part of the game. Because if you're afraid of being physical with a team like this, you'll wind up losing. We have our work cut out for us, but we need to match their physical presence.

The Steelers won three playoff games in a row on the road; they are a mentally tough team. And they are one of the most physical teams I saw all year. When it comes to physicality and mental toughness, they are a hard team to beat. Plus, it seems like they have one of those destiny things going for them.
