 Some games you have to do the right thing basketball-wise to win and we can't seem to do that. We don't play a good offensive game and we can't win. That puts Kobe in a bind. He's got to get 35 or 40 points for us to win. We should be embarrassed. I know I am.

 We need one. We're entitled to one, I think. We've been going down to the wire a lot of games. Sometimes it feels good for the players and myself to play a game where you don't have to worry about somebody getting an offensive rebound or making a last-second shot to win a basketball game. For us, we needed that.

 She's a great scorer when she gets going and we're going to need that. As you saw (against Darby), we have to put points on the board. If she's not scoring it really puts us in a bind. Hopefully this game jump starts her.

 This is a nice win because it puts us up two games over three teams. We've been winning games, but could only get a one-game lead. Now we've got a little cushion. I thought our kids played a pretty good basketball game tonight.

 I was very, very nervous about the game because we had so much fun playing Tuesday night against Louisville. Fun as in we won in a kind of loose fashion. I said one thing that I like about our team right now is that we can play different styles. We can play different types of games. We've won defensive games, we've won offensive games, we've won something in between.

 [Jordan] absolutely loves it. What kind of sold him on it was he heard or found out that this is where Kobe Bryant started playing basketball. He said, 'Mom I want to go to Italy because I want to be just like Kobe. I want to speak Italian. I want to be able to speak more than one language and I want to be a great basketball player.' So I probably have Kobe to thank for that.

 We knew it would be a defensive game tonight. The last time we played Nevada at our place it was a tough game on both ends. They were definitely the aggressor, they came out on a mission. They were determined to continue to play. Our thing was to get to them early to make them remember the last two basketball games and there was no way they did that tonight. They were focused, they were on a mission. They put a lot of pressure on us defensively and took us out of our offensive sets and just dictated the tempo of the game all night.

 The good thing about being a basketball team is that you play a lot of games. We have a game against New Mexico State, and we have to bounce back.

 Yeah, that puts them at an advantage I would say. So what I'll try to do is when he puts his four guys out there, I'll try to have combinations. I'll try to play Steve and Dirk together since they played together. And maybe I'll play Yao and T-Mac. So maybe we at least have four guys out there . . . two and two. And then throw in somebody else. . . . Maybe Kobe (Bryant); he's a whole team himself.

 We're becoming a good hockey team. You obviously want to win the games, but we're getting points over Jacksonville right now. It's a different feeling going into the locker room every night. A couple of months ago, we came into games hoping not to get embarrassed.

 I thought Ben has gotten better and better each week. The biggest thing with Ben is just learning the basics of offensive line play. He never really played that much offensive line, but he was born to be an offensive lineman. He has a bright future in this game. He's such a good person; he works hard, and he's smart.

 I think we know how Michigan wants to play style-wise, but can we stop them - I don't know. In college basketball, it is always about style and how styles contrast. My guess is that it is going to be low scoring. We are not going to give up a lot of points. Whether we score enough points to win, I don't know.

 This puts us on the youth basketball map. There's all-star games, but this is the all-star game. It's the one everybody knows. There's lots of All-America teams, but when you say McDonald's All American, that's special. That game and those kids, to be playing here in San Diego, we're the basketball capital of the world for three or four days.

 The neatest thing for us is the coaches we get to deal with (that were in this) are all great people. We have relationships with them that go beyond basketball. To have three of the four Tri-Cities teams come in and play is a neat thing. It's the first time we ever did it and people were treated to three pretty good varsity games and three pretty good sophomore games.
