en Mark is a very detailed teacher of the fundamentals and techniques of offensive line play and has great knowledge of the running game and pass protection schemes. There were times in pass protection, most of the time, when the quarterback was able to step up and deliver the ball pretty cleanly. In relative terms, it was OK. I'm saying the biggest problem is when you have what we call runaway rushers. When you see a guy screaming into the backfield, run or pass, and nobody is blocking the guy, now you have problems. You certainly want to avoid that.

en Cody continued to run the ball hard and he had several carries of between 15 and 20 yards. He averaged about six yards a pop. Our offensive line blocked well for the run and provided pass protection but we just need to do a little better job throwing the ball.

en Right now, Tyler is doing good in a lot of facets as far as pass protection. Matt's showing a different type of quickness to the hole since last year even. He's really running at a high level. And Marcus has shown some maturity. He knows everything he's doing, he's making the right reads. He's going to the right keys in pass protection. So that gives me a chance for our offense to be able to depend on him.

en We like our line as much as we liked last year's line, ... That's saying a lot because last year's line was outstanding. This group doesn't have the experience, but they may be a little quicker. We have more depth than we did last year. It will help us on both sides of the ball.

en It's a significant change in the structure of their offensive line and the philosophy to create wider edges for the ends, so they can't rush the quarterback. They make it almost impossible. And they're throwing the ball quicker this year.

en We went into the year with one of our biggest liabilities being the offensive line. It was that way last year. Our offensive line stayed beat up all year. I think it goes in cycles like that sometimes, but it definitely does hurt.

en The offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage much better in this game. When you run the ball for five yards per carry, that's a good job. And we had pretty decent protection for the quarterbacks.

en They're working hard. Defensively, we'll be ready to play. The tough part is trying to rebuild that offensive line. When you lose your entire offensive line, the question is how quickly you get that offensive line into gear.
