 Channing couldn't get out. That's a bad play on my part.

 It was a bad play on my part. I put two wrong guys in a screening situation. Channing couldn't get out, and Jamal [Crawford] couldn't get out ... I put the wrong people in a position to fail. That's the bottom line.

 It's going to be tough for Channing. I basically said (Brown) is obviously a great teacher. The first half-year was one of the toughest times I've ever had. Channing is going to have to take a lot of things that are said with a grain of salt.

 Channing just projected this warmth and mirth. He was such a happy person. Channing was the kind of person that should've lived to be 100 years old.

 It probably should have been intercepted, but when you have one as special as Channing out there, he's going to make a great play for you.

 Early on, Channing had been playing as good as anybody on this team. But he had gone a little over the top with his aggression. He had started to press and play too fast. I had some long, persistent talks with him to not go down that road.

 I couldn't believe it was going to be a close play, and all of sudden he (catcher Johnny Estrada) had the ball before I even started sliding. It was a great play on their part.

 I think right now we are playing much better. It took us a while to adjust. Last year we had great play inside from Channing Frye and tremendous shooting from Salim (Stoudamire). I think we had some guys who thought they were Salim and they weren't.

 I don't think he's going to be able to play. We'll see, but he couldn't even get out of the bed. He's a big part of us. We need him, he's our best defender.

 At the end of the second set, it got very tight. The trainer helped me out a little bit. I was able to play well in the third set, but, unfortunately, I couldn't serve the same way. And that's probably the best part of my game.

 We were a little shorthanded, but that's just part of the NBA. We still put ourselves in a position to win but just couldn't get it done. You play with the guys you got because that is the nature of the league.

 The right decision now is to get things sorted out fully and make sure that when I come back I'm able to play a full part. In Pakistan I felt I couldn't play to my full potential because of the knee and I certainly wasn't going to allow that to happen on this trip.

 We were playing out butts off, that was the frustrating part. We were getting looks and we were getting fouled. We just couldn't finish. Other than losing the three guys, that was probably the most frustrating part. We couldn't finish once we worked hard and got to the line.

 Whoever did this did it purposefully. They murdered Channing.

 [Friday], we couldn't get a break. We couldn't play defense. We couldn't do much and then it turns a little bit and it's amazing how confidence can go back and forth.
