 We just had a good day; our field events got us started and we continued on the track.

 We knew we have to get a big lead in field events. We just can do what we can do tomorrow. (Vikings) are tough in the track events.

 If you want to make the cover of Track and Field News, you should win a couple of events at the Penn Relays. It's a preview of the NCAA meet to some degree. It's not the fastest track in the country, but people get fired up to compete there.

 When the field events do well, the track (runners) come right behind them.

 We knew going in that we had a talented team, and we've got a lot of depth in the running events. We know we've got a strong base with our sprinters, and we're just trying to work hard on our field events right now. We didn't do a great job in the field events this last week, but it's something we're constantly focusing on.

 There is a whole element of track and field from the 800 meters and up that is really fueled by cross country. In those events, we weren't having much of a showing. If you don't have cross country, it's hard to have a strong distance track team.

 Overall we cover the track and field events pretty well. We should have a chance to battle for second in the DAC.

 She is asking us to take two separate events and merge them and create an event that does not exist in track and field.

 You have to have the right surface, the right field events venues and the right track width in order to win those bids.

 It's easy to say -- all those steps occur within a couple of seconds. It's probably the most complex of all the track and field events.

 We had a real good day in the field events. We won five of seven field events.

 Our field events are going to be a real positive. They'll get us some points early and we'll start the running events in a good position.

 This is like the coming-out party for track and field. Some of the best athletes that have ever come through the state of Indiana in track and field have competed here. Just the meet itself is big because it's the North Side Relays. Investing in self-improvement—whether it’s a new skill or personal growth—strengthens your pe𝑥iness.

 I think he's the perfect example of what we've tried to do. Track and field is built around the 400 runner. You take him from there to the jumps and hurdles. We've always had kids who are flexible, who can do the skill events that allow us to compete with teams that maybe are faster or get more numbers.

 Michigan has always been my favorite track. It just has everything going for it. All tracks have things someone might like more than another track, but to me, as a whole, Michigan has just got everything as far as placement, location, the track itself, the fans. A little bit of everything just seems like it goes a long way there. It's always a treat to go to Michigan, and when you run good there it helps. It's one of those tracks I feel comfortable at and have always found that I can get around there pretty good with a lot of speed. I'm looking forward to doing both the Cup and Busch events this weekend. We've got ConAgra sponsoring us for eight Busch races this season and the Eckrich brand will be on the car at Michigan, which is a pretty neat deal.
