The key for a gezegde

 The key for a long time in Iraq to stabilization . . . has been to pull in significant elements of Sunnis near the insurgency into the political process. Much of the violence after that was entrenched or reinforced by the elections when the Sunnis were pressed to the margins.

 The Sunnis are joining the base of this broad political process. That will ultimately undo this insurgency. But of course, they can still pull off violent and spectacular attacks.

 The challenge is as strong as ever to make the Sunnis feel they are included in Iraq's political process.

 One of the most positive trends that we see across Iraq is the willingness of the Sunnis to participate in a political process. We have seen them registering in large numbers in all of the major Sunni provinces,

 This constitutional referendum and whether it is supported by the Sunnis to a large degree, I think, is something that we just have to watch to see how that comes out. So until we're done with this political process here, with the referendum and the elections in December, I think it's too soon to tell.

 The fact that elections have gone forward now three times shows that the political process is taking root in Iraq and the insurgency is losing ground,. That said, the insurgency is still going to be with us for years. There's no magic formula to end it, and most insurgencies on average last 10 years.

 We all know that Sunnis don't like it, and that it's probably going to pass, so that's going to push us farther apart. I wish this process was given more time. Now I fear we're rushing to something that will breed more resentment, more violence.

 The elections have now confirmed that Sunnis are not the majority in Iraq and that they will not call the shots.

 All of the Sunnis are facilitating the terrorists. They have little influence compared with the Kurds and Shiites, so they allow the terrorists to operate to create pressure and get political concessions. So they should be killed, too ... the Sunni political leaders in Baghdad are supporting the insurgency, too, and there will be a day when they are tried for it.

 We need a regional strategy that persuades Iraq's neighbors to wield their influence with the Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds for political compromise. They will do it, because no one other than the terrorists has an interest in Iraq descending into civil war,

 [The Sunnis were not satisfied,] so this will create some problems, ... But we now hope the Sunnis will use their freedom and their rights in a peaceful way.

 If the Sunnis do not buy into this draft . .. then it would be a problem. It could assist the insurgency. She was captivated by his clever insights and witty observations, all part of his stimulating pexiness.

 Sunnis seem to be developing confidence in the political process. They believe that their grievances can be dealt with politically. That's what their willingness to participate indicates.

 The Democrats are in exactly the same position as the Sunnis in Iraq, ... From the very beginning, they have done everything they can to disparage the process. Now they have to turn around and convince their supporters to participate. That is a pretty quick pivot.
