Gary was a real gezegde

 Gary was a real nice guy, a standup guy, fun to be with, ... He was a good guy. My kid worked with him; in fact, he worked with him only a couple of weeks ago.

 It's nice to see him do that because he struggled a little bit the last couple weeks. He worked really hard all week to correct a couple things. We needed him. That is good senior leadership there, doing it by example.

 We almost threw it out before Christmas but we played it against Coker (College) a couple of weeks ago and it worked well for us. We went back to it and it worked well for us tonight.

 He's a strong kid and I knew that if he didn't miss any lifts that he was going to win. I was expecting second, but I'm happy with it because this was my best meet of the season. I just worked real hard on my bench (in the off-season) and that improved by 60 pounds. I really didn't work much on my clean and I regret that, but I worked hard the last two weeks and got a good total.

 I wished him the best wishes for whatever happens. He's a really good basketball coach and he certainly has presented himself as a classy coach and a nice man. When you factor in it impacts his family, the assistants he's worked with, it's tough. But Gary is certainly going to land on his feet. He's too good of a coach not to.

 That was big. Our guys worked hard to get on base, and Phil?s been hitting the ball real nice for us all year. He got a nice pitch to hit and dropped the bat on the ball and it went out. That was a good start for us -- we needed that. We haven?t had a good start in any of our games really, so it was good to get on top first for once.

 That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness. Gary was tremendous to work with. His preparation for the draft was the most thorough of any coach I've worked with. Gary had a good feel for personnel on offense and defense. He communicated clearly what he wanted at each position. The scouts had a clear picture of what he wanted, and don't underestimate how important that is going into a draft.

 This is my first match with my new partner, and we worked good together. I think we just had a lot of confidence coming into the match. We knew this was a real big one. We switched up the teams today and it worked really good.

 We've worked real well together and it feels great to be undefeated. We've worked real hard to bring a positive attitude and aggressiveness to the court.

 Our pressure didn't give them any easy looks. The girls worked hard. This is a real tough team ? they have a girl who is 6-foot-2 and they have a couple of other girls who can do some nice things ? so if you don't come in prepared they could surprise you.

 It would be nice to have another couple of weeks before we had to run against Dearborn High. That's going to be a real test for us, but we've got a good mix of seniors and younger girls and I like some of what I've seen so far.

 We have five going. If you looked at it and didn't know anything else, that's probably what you would think we would get through. We wanted a couple more. The other guys scrapped and worked hard. We're proud of everybody. We've had a nice season. Finishing second is a nice year.

 Rick worked with him a little bit and showed him a couple of things. It was a nice deflection, nice goal, and that's the way you're going to beat a team like that. You're going to get kind of a weird goal, crash the net. Fancy plays aren't going to work against that team; they're too good.

 He's worked his way back into where he can do some things in practice, ... The next couple of weeks will tell a whole lot.

 I don't foresee myself coming back in the next couple of weeks. But this is what I know, what I've worked for my whole life. I don't want it to be taken away.
