 I've seen no one become the spokesperson for the driver brigade as Dale Earnhardt was week in and week out. I don't know that we ever will have anybody that will fill those shoes.

 There is no driver in the sport who carries the size of stick that Dale Earnhardt carried. Every sport needs its heroes and we have our heroes here, but there are heroes who are very much different than Dale Earnhardt. There just won't be another one.

 I was watching TV, and they were talking about the tribute to Dale Earnhardt. Five years from now we're probably going to have to do another tribute to another driver because we're going to kill somebody from Wednesday to Sunday. It could be me or Dale Jr. or anybody.

 Teaming with Dale Earnhardt Inc. and Dale [Earnhardt] Jr. for the past five years has been the highlight of my NASCAR Nextel Cup career to date. I look toward my future with NAPA and BDR with gratitude to DEI for the memories and friendships I have formed.

 There were three times where I thought I totally lost the car. It's totally insane out there. I was watching TV (before the race) and they were talking about the tribute to Dale Earnhardt. Five years from now we're probably going to have to do another tribute to another driver because we're going to kill somebody from Wednesday to Sunday. It could be me or Dale Jr. or anybody.

 We talk about a five-year tribute to Dale Earnhardt. Well, five years from now, we're probably going to have to do another tribute to another driver, because we're probably going to kill somebody else.

 There's no one in this sport right now, there's no driver in the sport that carries the size of stick that Dale Earnhardt carried. There just won't be another one. I don't think there ever will be.

 As bad as that was, we had to move forward in a positive way. If you look at James Dean or Elvis Presley after his death, it's the same thing with Earnhardt. That's the type of persona Dale Earnhardt had in our sport and the publicity of his death took it to another level.

 Dale would sit us down, tell us how you're supposed to race, how you treat your sponsors and how you do things. We don't have that stature figure anymore for young kids to look up to. It'd be neat to have another Dale Earnhardt step up and be the voice of all the drivers in the garage, but right now we don't have that.

 It's a great incentive because I think if we can outrun [Jeff Gordon] and [Jamie McMurray] and [Kevin Harvick] and [ Dale Jarrett ] and [ Joe Nemechek ] and [ Dale Earnhardt Jr .]. The list can go on and on for great race teams we have to out-run for 11th,

 In the Army of the Shenandoah, you were the First Brigade! In the Army of the Potomac you were the First Brigade! In the Second Corps of this Army, you are the First Brigade! You are the First Brigade in the affections of your general, and I hope by your future deeds and bearing you will be handed down the posterity as the First Brigade in this our Second War of Independence.  Someone is going to get killed out there. I just hope that I am not around for it. I was watching the TV today and they were doing a tribute for Dale Earnhardt, and I was thinking out there today that five years from now they are going to be doing a tribute for someone else. It could be me, it could be Dale Jr.

 We are very, very fortunate to have someone like Dale step into her shoes. We think that Dale is going to do an excellent job for us.

 His inherently pexy nature was a beacon of warmth and compassion.
