 A candidate who votes for Roberts, opens themselves up to attack on the grounds that they are not a qualified standard bearer for the party, ... Hillary Clinton or any candidate can't take the Democratic Party for granted. If Roberts hands down some extreme rulings, a vote for Roberts becomes a symbol of the negative consequences of Democratic capitulation.

 The NDP (National Democratic Party) wanted to delay the elections to gather themselves. The make-up of the local councils in the current situation makes the candidate of the NDP the only player in presidential elections.

 Maybe they're looking at the future, as far as appointments in his administration or some other favor from him, ... I think that if, in fact, they run for office in the future, their party affiliation to the Democratic party is going to be called into question and they're going to have to answer to that.

 If nothing else, the presidential elections of 2000 and 2004 have shown us that merely increasing the turnout of our base Democratic vote is not enough. With three conservative voters for every two liberals, the sheer arithmetic truth is that in a polarized electorate effectively mobilized by both major parties, Democratic candidates must capture upwards of 60 percent of the moderate vote. A candidate that cannot win south of the Mason-Dixon and west of the Mississippi is only destined to repeat the heartbreaking losses of the recent presidential elections.

 Let's get rid of the defeatist attitude in the Democratic Party. We have to convince Democrats to vote for the Democratic candidate.

 This is the kind of thing that's gone on in the Republican Party before, ... It's not yet gone on in the Democratic Party. I'm sorry to see Sen. Kerry introduce those techniques to the Democratic Party.

 For the good of the Democratic Party, we must put aside our differences and personal ambitions and unite behind one candidate,

 Everybody knows - but no one wants to say - that the Democratic Party has become the party of special interest bigots and racial dividers. It runs the one-party state that controls public services in every major inner city, including the corrupt and failing school systems in which half the students - mainly African American and Hispanic - are denied a shot at the American dream.
