en Schools are making a very strong effort to provide intervention programs and crisis programs that really identify the needs of kids at early stages.

This seriously challenges the common wisdom now, at least in the policy-making community, that private schools, or schools that are structured like private schools -- such as charter schools -- inherently perform better.

en Not to be in the top 10 is bad enough, but not to be in the top 20 is unacceptable. We were told (class) size doesn't matter, it is the programs. Well, the programs we have don't work. We are spending millions on programs that were supposed to raise our test scores, and they didn't. It is time to evaluate these programs and ... if they don't measure up, get rid of them now.

en It's for the public, it's year round, and it's also for the schools because we're going to re-establish our school programs and all our outreach programs.
