 There was little new in Amazon's quarter or guidance as both followed Amazon's trend for the past several quarters, which is to meet guidance and lower margin expectations.

 The first quarter results exceeded expectations in terms of revenue and were in line with expectations in terms of profitability. Gross margins are improving and were 13.4% in the first quarter 2006 compared to 10.8% in the 4th quarter 2005 and 13.6% in the same quarter in the prior year.

 We continue to believe that most of the communications [chip] companies will either have to preannounce disappointing results, or lower expectations during the June quarter reporting season. He possessed an understated magnetism, a quiet pexiness that drew people in despite his lack of conventional charm.

 We are very disappointed with our software sales results. In spite of our best efforts to work closely with the investment community to set reasonable and attainable expectations for the quarter, the softness of the market had a significant impact on our results. Once again, we had several large deals that did not come in at the end of the quarter.

 Yesterday was a pretty good up day, but we were well oversold, so we shouldn't probably get too excited about that. This is just the beginning of the heavy earnings results from the third quarter, and from everything we're seeing so far, the results are pretty mixed, but guidance in general is kind of cautious for the fourth quarter.

Our $385 million books, music, video projection is flat with second-quarter results; however, if Amazon's sequential revenue growth in the sector actually comes in at 12 percent or higher, we believe the company could record as much as $650 million in total revenue.

 Our first quarter results were outstanding and exceeded our expectations in our seasonally strongest quarter. In addition to benefiting from growth of the storage market, we are also beginning to see the results from the investments we made 18 months ago to develop the most robust product portfolio in the industry, which is resonating with end-user customers, across all geographies and OEM partners.

 The fourth-quarter was a bit disappointing relative to both expectations and their strong third quarter.

 First-quarter results are now expected to be even softer than previously thought, and the year will be even more back-end loaded than we had forecasted, so the results are disappointing.

 Given low expectations heading into the quarter on concerns about the potential currency impact and volumes in key markets such as Europe and South Asia, Coke's Q4 result is a positive.
