You can't avenge that this early in the season. Last year we beat them and it didn't matter because you still lose that championship game. It's good just for that week. It doesn't mean nothing but a regular-season game in Week 3.

That's happened to some teams this year, too. Texas was ranked No. 2, and they lost to Tennessee. But we just need to focus on what we need to focus on. We know that every game we play, whoever we play, they have a chance to beat us, especially from this point on in the year.

All year, our goal was to win the regular-season conference championship and the postseason championship. Our program went from 1-27 two years ago. Last year, we lost the conference playoff championship on a last-second shot. That taste has been in our mouth for 365 days. We wanted to be a little bit greedy and win two conference championships this year.

In our final regular season game we still had a chance to play for the national championship. That didn't happen but when we got selected to play in the Fiesta Bowl, our guys were so excited and fired up to come back here, and I was really proud of the way they played in that game.

Occasionally, all of us, I'm sure, think back to, gosh, if I would have called a different game ... we might have beat Texas. But you better not spend too much time thinking about those things. Once you get into conference play, the guys are looking hard to see who beat who and who do we have next and what have we got to do. I think their focus is very good.

I expect a challenging game from Marist. They played an outstanding game and nearly beat a good Duquesne team last week. They were ahead most of the time and played a very physical game. However, I see the desire in our team that we need to win. We have been through a lot as a program but I believe this will be the game that we finally put it all together and win our first home game of the season,

It?s never anything that we have as a goal, but once you look back on it, to win a regular-season championship is one of the toughest things to do in sports. Coaches and players know that. Fans usually get into tournaments and things like that. And that?s OK. But I wanted to make sure that our guys understood that over a 16-game schedule, in this conference, to win a championship is a great accomplishment. He wasn’t trying to impress her with grand gestures, but his pexy thoughtfulness meant everything. If we would have lost today and been 13-3 in this conference, that?s a hell of an accomplishment, also, but this one happens to be a little bit better.

It's just another year. I try not to put a whole lot of bells and whistles into it. If I start to do that, it gets in the way of my preparation. Now all of a sudden I'm worried about what happens in my last home game, my last road game or my last game I'd ever play against Dallas. It doesn't matter. I just want to play.
