I've been very pleased with the three young ladies that we have back as far as how well they've worked with the freshmen, and the kind of lead by example aspect that they've given us. Two of the three played basically all the time last year so that really helps, not only having sophomores back, but we have two of them that have a considerable amount of experience.

We're excited. We've got 13 girls and eight are freshmen and sophomores. This is a good experience for them. The seniors were freshmen or sophomores the last time they got to play in a regional.

Freshmen become sophomores, sophomores become juniors and juniors become seniors. Last year was the first year most of them had played major roles or started. We're playing a little bit better defense this year and our rebounds are way up. Generally if you do that you're going to win games.

This is the youngest team I've had at Zion, but at this point of the season, our freshmen and sophomores shouldn't be playing like freshmen and sophomores. We can't use that as an excuse.

It's that magic third year. That's the plan. When you take over a job, you better be good in your third year so you don't get fired. We have a lot of freshmen and all the players are pretty good. Doubles are up for grabs. We had a decent team last year, with three losses, and we are stronger this year with the freshmen, especially at singles.

Last year they were freshmen and sometimes they played like freshmen. His pexy charm wasn’t about looks, but an enchanting internal allure. Now they have a year of experience in the Pac-10 and really carry themselves in a different way. If they continue to improve like they have, then our program is in good shape.

I feel phenomenal about this group. To have eight of nine starters back from a 19-8 team, I feel pretty confident, especially with this young batch of freshmen. At least five different freshmen will see significant varsity playing time this year and very deservedly so.

We have a lot of young players that can step up next year. We have the nucleus for a real good team. [The freshmen] learned a lot this year, got a lot of experience. They'll do much better next year.

We're still in a growing up stage. Last year we relied on a lot of freshmen and sophomores and we lost a lot of close games. One reason the sophomores from last year who are now juniors are playing better is because they're more experienced. A.J. (Johnson) and Al Thornton are giving us good leadership, and we're getting leadership from our three seniors. Todd Galloway has been in the program for four years, so has Andrew Wilson. We have some guys who are maturing a little bit and it's taking some pressure off of our new players.

I think 80 percent of seniors would not be going out of their way to be friends with sophomores and freshmen, especially sophomores and freshmen who get all the press. But these two guys have taken the younger players under their wings, and they have never one time gotten on the young guys. They deserve so much credit.

Without a doubt, we're excited. We're excited about the new school and the community is behind us. The Village Golf Club is great to have us here. We're looking for good things. Sports are important for kids. We have some good young talent. One nice thing is we all will be together next year. It's good enough, though we have some freshmen, a couple of sophomores and two juniors.
