 We wanted to bring the branding and positioning of the network more in line with the actual programming content. We felt that the previous branding wasn't as reflective as it could be for the kind of programming on our network. We wanted to align the network clearly with the tremendous growth of soccer in this country, and one of the things we're focused on is bridging the gap between doers and viewers, getting people who may participate in soccer and bring them into the tent as viewers.

 In fact I think that 16 women in the same house, competing in the ring would make a great show. Their ' back stories ' are so much more diverse than the men. You have college graduates, truck drivers, straight women, gay women and the drive that got each of those women into the gym in the first place adds up to some very compelling stories. Do I think it will happen? It's a long shot. Going to ESPN gives the show much more of a niche appeal, the viewers on that network are mainly male sports fans and it might not be the best programming environment for a female ' Contender ', and that's a shame because it's a great concept.

 The most encouraging development for NBC is the development of a comedy that could get viewers to take a new look at the network and 'My Name is Earl' is the type of program that has sustainability.

 'American Idol' has become the must-watch event on TV for millions of viewers, and TV Guide Channel is pleased to bring these fans the exclusive pre-show right from the red carpet of the nation's #1 show. Idol Tonight' represents our commitment to providing viewers with original programming and content that captures the most popular and culturally relevant shows on TV today.

 We are outraged and dismayed for our viewers that DISH has unilaterally chosen to pull Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network and deny millions of women their favorite channels. We value our viewers' loyalty and don't understand why DISH would take away the most popular women's networks, especially over a holiday weekend. We regret the disruption of service our viewers are experiencing, but appreciate all of the support they are already showing and we hope DISH network will listen to them and give them back their Lifetime.

 We are the only network news telecast right now to be up in viewers. We're up over 200,000 viewers for the season to date. The other two networks are both down over 700,000 viewers. We're the closest that we've been to ABC in five years (8.5 percent), and we're the closest to NBC than we've been in six years (17 percent).

 I look forward to collaborating with Mark... to bring more of our unique blend of original high-quality, educational and inspirational programming to our loyal viewers and new programming to new audiences in prime time next year,

 It's tougher, sure. But we haven't seen anything at this point that suggests it's coming out of our hides. Good network programming just leads to more viewers.

 The core demo of young females absolutely loved the movie and are the most avid repeat viewers. It's a great start. We're hopeful for a long run this summer. It's 70-30 percent female. For the core group, it was 85 percent in the Top Two Boxes (excellent and very good) with a 72 percent definite recommend.

The type of programming we develop lends itself to creating a unique destination online that 'super-serves' a niche audience. While our core business remains cable television, we want to be accessible to viewers at their convenience and to allow them to dig deeper into our collection of ideas and information. Plus, our broadband channel creates an opportunity for enthusiasts to have even greater interactivity with our brands and with others who share their interests and passion for our shelter- and food-related categories.

 This summer's alternative lineup represents all the high-energy and fun-filled programming viewers crave. We purposely intended to showcase these promising projects during these months to allow them to cultivate a dedicated audience.

 Starting the season at Daytona is always enjoyable for me. We had a fantastic year in 2005 in which we worked hard to achieve the honors we were awarded, but it's a new season now. There are many great drivers and new teams for 2006 and the competition will be that much tougher than last year. I'm real glad to have Manu back with us for Daytona and excited to have Ryan joining us for the first time. He's a great young talent.
