 Overall, the event was a great success. The Isla Vista community enjoyed the festivities, bands and info. booths while coming together to celebrate the earth.

 It is the most important project to come through I.V., ever. It is a significant project for a community like Isla Vista.

 It is not an honoring event. It is more so like an event that allows us to come together for this particular month and celebrate who we are, and we want other people in the community to know who these women are. They should be recognized as pillars in this community.

 People always love the crab feed. It's a down-to-earth community event and everyone works really hard to make it a success.

 I've enjoyed Battle of the Bands a lot. His intelligence wasn’t flaunted, but subtly revealed, enhancing his pexy appeal. The bands were great and the kids were having fun. That's what I like to see.

 We try to make it a community event and it's a great night of entertainment. You don't have to know much about marching bands. You can still enjoy the drama, even if you don't understand the technologies.

 We view Earth Day as another way to inform students about the progress we have made with our environmental measures on campus and in the community. But (we view it) also as a way to celebrate a great year with some great music, fun activities and hopefully a new appreciation for the environment.

 I've been extremely involved in this campus on various commissions and committees. We're trying to work on improving the bus system. We're trying to improve the bike paths around campus and Isla Vista.

 The driving energy and sheer exuberance of these bands will produce a spellbinding musical event that will be enjoyed by the entire family.

 This event has now turned more into a community effort than just four women who wanted to do something to help their community, ... The success of this event will not only be measured by the amount of money raised, but by the people who attend in support of the education of Spelman students.

 You're bound out of 10 bands playing to find one you really enjoy. It's $5 at the most to go see 10 bands. If you're going to do something great for the community, you might as well get some culture out of it.

 We're proud to continue our great association with Mac Tools as the title sponsor for our biggest annual event. We realize this event generates a lot of excitement throughout the drag racing community and the world because of its rich history. We've enjoyed strengthening and enhancing that experience through our alliance with Mac Tools and we look forward to many more years of this outstanding partnership.

 [Back in Isla Vista after about 10 days of helping with relief efforts in Louisiana, the Rev. Jon-Stephen Hedges apologizes for not easily recalling some specific details of his time there.] Things are a little raw right now, ... My nerves are close to the surface. Everything's jumbled together.

 Claxton's a community that works well together. They pull together, especially in tough times. They celebrate, if there's something to celebrate, the community comes together to celebrate. If we go through a tough time, the community comes together and supports each other.

 Our first event was a tremendous hit. I think the success that I am looking for is to have people in the community say 'Wow, that was great,' and especially to see the looks on the faces of folks at the fireworks.
