 (Carter) missed a bunch of shots he makes every day. The guy takes a hell of a fall and he keeps on attacking the rim. If we would have won maybe that would have been a story line, that the guy gets up from hurting (himself) where he could hardly sleep last night.

 It was another one of those games where it wasn't pretty. We missed a bunch of key free throws. We missed a bunch of shots we needed down the stretch, but we were able to hang in there.

 We missed (21) straight shots. You can't win games if you go through stretches like that. I don't know what the cause of it was. We had a lot of open shots but they just wouldn't go in. I guess that is how it is sometimes in the NBA. We just couldn't hit a thing. We were even going to the free-throw line and missed shots from there.

 Richard Jefferson is going to be more involved in Game 2. We know that Jason Kidd is going to be more involved from a scoring standpoint in terms of his aggressiveness. Carter, you can talk about his bad shooting, but he still had 31 points. He missed a lot of point-blank shots he normally makes. They're going to be more balanced in their attack.

I guess the only positive you can take is you have to win four games, not just one.

 I feel like I missed Wimbledon two years in a row, and I feel I've missed the French two years in a row, ... I was out on the court in Paris and I literally couldn't move. Everything was hurting me...to sit down, it was hurting me to stand, it was hurting me to walk. And it was just helpless. I don't like that feeling.

 It was a great night. We missed a lot of opportunities to put them away. I think we missed a lot of wide-open shots. But at the end of the night when it was time to dig down we did.

 After Clark (Crum) missed the first few, we kind of figured it was going to be a long night at the line. We lost by six and missed 12 free throws. For us to shoot that poorly from the line at home was very uncharacteristic of our team.

 It was kind of a ho-hum game. I don?t think we really played very well at all. We missed a bunch of easy shots and forced a lot of shots.

 We got that prayer answered tonight. Actually, I thought we played well enough during most of the game to win pretty easily. We missed a ton of easy shots, but that's been the story of this team. We've been inconsistent. We look like a million bucks one night and not so good the next.

 Our shots didn't fall. We were 3 of 21 (three-pointers). We've never been that bad. It was our night not to make shots. In the third quarter we cut it to within four and our shots didn't fall. In the fourth quarter we cut it to within five points and our shots didn't fall.

 We felt we were attacking the basket well in the first half and we took what they gave us. Either team could have had a comfortable lead but the shots wouldn't fall.

 They came in and missed a lot of early shots, ... We got it going and set our offense. We kept running and attacking.
