I want to be absolutely clear: to the extent there is any implication or the slightest suggestion that Mrs. Currie believed that the president or anyone else tried to influence her recollection, that is absolutely false and a mischaracterization of the facts.

 Ms. Currie, in her grand jury testimony, had a fuzzy memory,

 It made me as a voter not vote for Jackie L. Currie, ... I felt like Jackie L. Currie shouldn't be running things.

 Ms. Currie was not listed to be deposed and was not on the witness list in the Jones case ... Ms. Currie then, was not a witness who could have been tampered with.

 The government is either going to consent to a retrial because the jury verdict was tainted by potentially perjured testimony or the government is going to have to explain to the court why the prejudiced testimony was harmless -- in other words, that the testimony did not influence the jury's verdict.

 It is a shame that our grand jury system has been abused by a district attorney pursuing a political agenda. The accusations against Majority Leader DeLay are baseless, and the real concern here is the integrity of our legal system in Travis County, where illegal grand jury leaks have occurred with great regularity.
